IPL 2019: I Always Believe Captain Is As Good As The Team – Bhuvneshwar Kumar
The decent run of form continues for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League 2019. The collective bowling effort that was led by Mohammad Nabi and the brilliant batting show from Jonny Bairstow in the second innings helped Bhuvneshwar Kumar-led side to win those crucial two points.
Earlier, it was Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who won the toss, elected to bowl first. It turned out to be a nice call, as they outsmarted Delhi batsmen to the perfection. The captain of SRH took the new ball and dismissed dangerous-looking Prithvi Shaw in the third over of the game.
The brilliant knock of Shreyas Iyer came at an end when Rashid Khan’s googly tricked him. Chris Morris tried his best to whack few deliveries but the skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar did the trick for the team. In the end, it was Axar Patel, who helped Delhi to post 129 runs on the board.
In reply to the chase, Sunrisers Hyderabad got a blistering start in the form of Jonny Bairstow. He continued his glorious form in the middle to hand an edge for the team in the tricky chase.
He smashed it brilliantly to put Sunrisers Hyderabad pretty much in the control of the game. In between, David Warner looked completely in the off colour, as he never got the right timing on the ball.
We always wanted to bowl – Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Speaking of the victory, Bhuveshwar Kumar quoted that the team had done exceptionally well in the middle. Further, he added that the management and the team have decided to bowl first in the small grounds.
”It is always easy as the captain when the team does well and I always believe that the captain is as good as the team. We always wanted to bowl given how small the ground is, we knew that it would be easier in the second innings,” he quoted.
Kane Williamson is almost there:
Further, he went on to add saying that the second half of the tournament will see spinners coming into the game, as the pitches in India wouldn’t assist the fast bowlers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also spoke on the arrival of Kane Williamson.
”In the second half of the IPL the wickets would be slow and turning all over India and spin would play a big part. Kane is almost there, but we want him to take as much time as he wants.,” he added.
However, as Bhuvneshwar Kumar said, it was a brilliant victory for the team. Now, they are the table-toppers and will head back to home to host Mumbai Indians on Saturday night.
