Apr 11, 2019 at 4:30 PM
Delhi Capitals go their IPL 12 campaign back on track when they registered a comprehensive victory against the Royal Challengers Bangalore last week. It was a clinical performance by the Delhi boys which will surely give them confidence in their upcoming encounter against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Delhi Capitals won the previous leg against the KKR in the Super over which will surely give them confidence coming into this encounter.
Now with the 26th match of the tournament slated to be played tomorrow let us have a look at the predicted playing XI for the Delhi Capitals
Prithvi Shaw
He has looked pretty impressive in the tournament so far and has contributed to the team’s cause at the top of the order. Prithvi Shaw struck a terrific 99 against the Kolkata Knight Riders in their last clash which will give him immense confidence. The young sensation will definitely look to make a mark tomorrow.
Shikhar Dhawan
The form of Shikhar Dhawan at the top of the order has been an area of concern for the Delhi Capitals. The southpaw is one of the finest openers in the country and his indifferent form in the tournament will not only give a headache to the DC team management but will also make the Indian selectors worried ahead of the ICC World Cup.
Shreyas Iyer
The DC skipper has played sensible cricket all through the tournament and has been the anchor for DC in the middle overs. He is yet to play an innings of substance but has been consistent in the middle order. He will surely look to contribute some runs tomorrow and lead his troops to victory.
Rishabh Pant
The pocket-sized dynamite has been one of the talking points of the tournament due to his exceptional six hitting abilities. The southpaw is a powerful striker of the ball and can change the complexion of the match within a single over. Rishabh Pant took a stunning one-handed catch a couple of matches ago but needs overall improvement in the wicket-keeping department. His temperament has come under the scanner after he failed to finish off matches for DC.
Colin Ingram
The South African left-handed batsman has looked in good touch in the tournament so far and has become a vital cog for them in the middle order. However, he has failed to make a mark in the last few matches which hasn’t Delhi Capitals in the middle order.
Chris Morris
The South African all-rounder has been one of the integral parts of the Delhi Capitals squad. His all-round abilities provide the much-needed balance to the franchise. Morris has been a consistent wicket-taker for DC in the tournament. However, he will look to start contributing more with the bat if he gets an opportunity.
Axar Patel
The left-arm spinner has bowled well in the limited opportunities he has got so far in the tournament. Unlike previous years, Axar has tried to bowl slow this season which might be one of the strategies which he might be following this year. He is a useful lower middle order batsman who has the ability to strike some big shots.
Harshal Patel
The all-rounder has done a commendable job for Delhi Capitals in the couple of matches he has played so far. He bagged two crucial wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders and bowled in good areas. Harshal was the wrecker in chief for Delhi against the KKR which will give him confidence coming into this match. However, there is no guarantee that he will be part of the playing XI.
Ishant Sharma
The lanky Indian speedster has bowled well in the opportunities he has received in the tournament. Against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Ishant bowled in the right areas and troubled the likes of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers during the powerplay. He is expected to be part of the Playing XI tomorrow.
Kagiso Rabada
He has been the standout bowler for Delhi Capitals in the tournament so far. He bowled a sensational Super over to hand DC a victory against KKR. Kagiso Rabada also bowled brilliantly against Kings XI Punjab which actually helped them restrict Punjab to a manageable score. In the last, match he went for a few runs but bagged a crucial wicket.
Sandeep Lamichhane
The Nepalese leg-spinner is the only player from his country to play in the IPL. Lamichane is a good option to have for any captain and he made a difference for them in the matches he has played in the tournament so far. The leggie went for a few runs against the Royal Challengers Bangalore but is definitely a wicket-taking option for Shreyas Iyer.
