This will be the 4th time that Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Chennai Super Kings in the final of IPL. Both teams have exceptional players in their ranks who has the ability to change the complexion of the match with both bat and ball and also in the field.
It will be a mouth-watering clash on our hands tomorrow and the stadium in Hyderabad should be a packed one. Can Mumbai Indians win their 4th clash of this season against Chennai Super Kings or will CSK break the deadlock? We will get the answer in the next 30 hours time.
The Mumbai Indians skipper has looked good in patches but hasn’t managed to get that big score under his belt. However, in the last few matches, Rohit Sharma has looked in good touch and has scored a couple of half-centuries.
He played a few good shots during his last encounter against the CSK. All in all, he has also led his troops quite brilliantly. There is no doubt about the fact that he is a world class player and a big knock be just around the corner. For yet another time, Rohit has looked an organized skipper.
Quinton de Kock
The wicket-keeper batsman has been a consistent performer for the Mumbai Indians in the tournament so far and has got MI off to good starts. In the match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, he played the sheet anchor’s role and scored a fluent half-century.
He is a wonderful striker of the ball and can deposit any bowler out of the park. De Kock is also a brilliant wicket-keeper. Even during the match against CSK in Qualifier 1 de Kock looked in good touch but was dismissed after attempting a big shot.
The youngster is a sensational striker of the ball who has the ability to destroy any bowling attacks on his day. The southpaw played a gritty knock against CSK and shared a match-winning stand with Suryakumar Yadav. Kishan is an important member of the Mumbai Indians outfit and will look to make an impression if he gets an opportunity to make a mark in the final of the tournament.
The right-handed batsman has looked good in patches but has failed to press on the accelerator in the middle overs which might tempt MI and the team management to demote him in the batting order. However, he is a fine batsman and has all the shots up his repertoire.
He played a match-winning knock against the Chennai Super Kings as he scored a knock of 58 to see his side through. It was a special knock, to say the least. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav is also a fantastic striker of the ball.
The big man from Windies is undoubtedly one of the most powerful strikers of the ball and can make any boundary rope look utterly small. He is a champion batsman and a sensational fielder who has the ability to take any catches.
He needs to get a promotion in the batting order and tomorrow must be the day when Pollard and Hardik Pandya gets the maximum deliveries to face. Off late he hasn’t bowled too much which has restricted the contribution of Pollard to Mumbai Indians.
The elder of the Pandya brother has been another integral part of the team for the last 3 years. He lends the ideal balance to the playing XI. If MI loses some early wickets, he might be pushed up the order. He is a good left-arm spinner and has the ability to control the game with his pace variations. He will look to make a mark in the last group game for the Mumbai Indians.
The form of Hardik Pandya has been of a different level and this tournament has witnessed some of the greatest ever strokeplay by the slim power hitter. He is a sensational striker of the ball and has taken on world-class bowling attacks with disdain.
During a group match against KKR, Hardik smashed a breathtaking 34 balls 91 and took the game away from the opposition. He is also having a good tournament with the ball and has managed to bag a Man of the Match Award solely due to his bowling efforts.
The left-arm pacer from New Zealand has been with the Mumbai Indians squad for a long time. He was released last year but bought in the auctions again. He is a terrific bowler but on occasions, he goes for plenty of runs.
However the final slated to be played in Hyderabad, an extra pacer must be required. McClenaghan should come in place of Jayant Yadav.
This has been a make or break season for Rahul Chahar who had warmed the benches for the last couple of years. Rahul Chahar has already bagged 13 wickets in the tournament so far and has bagged the wickets of some of the most important players in the league.
He has been quite consistent in the tournament and will also look to make an impact tomorrow. Even during the match against Chennai Super Kings, Rahul Chahar bowled brilliantly and provided MI with the initial breakthroughs. He will definitely look to make an impact in the final of the tournament.
The veteran Sri Lanka speedster has been a champion bowler for the Mumbai Indians over the years and is the leading wicket-taker in the history of the tournament. Malinga has bowled some exceptional Yorkers in the tournament and slowed deliveries which were quite evident even during the match Chennai.
He went for a few runs during the last few overs as MS Dhoni went hammers and tongs. Malinga in all likelihood will be a vital player for MI in the final of the tournament.
He has been the standout bowler for not only the Mumbai Indians but also for India over the past couple of years. Bumrah has bowled in the perfect areas but on occasions has conceded some vital runs which haven’t helped the team.
He bowled a sensational super over which handed Mumbai Indians a much-needed victory. Bumrah was also impressive during the match against the Chennai Super Kings. There is certainly no doubt about the fact that the speedster could be the match winner for CSK in the final.
