What a fantastic night it was for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2019 on the other night at Hyderabad? First, they outsmarted Chennai Super Kings back home and then, they rattled the defence of SRH before losing a game against Rajasthan back home. Rohit Sharma’s move to get Alzarri Joesph in place of Lasith Malinga for SRH clash proved worth taking the risk.
The Windies fast bowler had a sensational debut in the T20 league against hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad. He bowled a brilliant spell to grab a record 6/12. They are the best bowling figures for a debutant in the Indian Premier League after almost 11 years.
However, the heroics were restricted to only one game, as he went for 53 runs against Rajasthan Royals. It wasn’t just a night of him, as Jos Buttler was on a song on that day, who whacked even yorkers to the boundary fence.
Alzarri Joseph dislocated his shoulder:
The day got even worse when he landed awkwardly on his shoulder while making a desperate effort to stop the ball near the boundary. He was immediately taken out of the field and the recent reports suggest that he is out of the tournament.
Alzarri Joseph has dislocated his shoulder, which will see him taking a plane back home. It would be interesting to see whether it makes any impact on his selection for the ICC World Cup 2019.
“He has dislocated his shoulder and is out of this IPL season,” an official was quoted as saying by PTI.
Alzarri Joseph has been called as a replacement for New Zealand’s Adam Milne, who was injured ahead of the tournament. Now, they got the chance to add any other player in place of Joseph.
Meanwhile, it is learnt from the sources that Mumbai Indians’ aren’t considering the option of adding any new player to the side. Currently, they got an able-replacement in the form of Lasith Malinga in playing XI.
