Mar 24, 2019 at 9:58 PM
The tournament has already delivered goods to put fans on edge of their seats. The latest entertainers are Delhi Capitals, who smashed Mumbai Indians to all corners of the park. Rishabh Pant was the wrecker-in-chief with his stunning knock at the late stage of the innings.
Initially, it was Rohit Sharma, who won the toss, asked Delhi Capitals to bat first. The start wasn’t that great as the young Mumbai players Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer walked back for cheap scores. However, Shikhar Dhawan and Colin Ingram balanced the ship.
The duo took the attack to the opposition by finding the fence more often than not. Colin Ingram, in particular, has been sensational, who smashed Mumbai Indians all over the park.
The southpaw duo added an 83-run partnership for the third wicket before Colin Ingram dismissing on his personal score of 47 runs. Shikhar Dhawan too followed him in quick succession with 43 runs to his name.
However, then came the assault from Rishabh Pant, who has been sensational at Mumbai. He brought 18-ball fifty to put Mumbai Indians on their toes. He smashed the best bowlers of Mumbai Indians all over the park with his unorthodox strokes.
For Mumbai Indians, Mitchell McClenaghan was the star with the ball, who bagged three wickets. Hardik Pandya and Ben Cutting chipped in with one wicket apiece.
All in all, it has been a brilliant display of batting by Delhi Capitals. The steady partnership of Dhawan and Colin Ingram followed by the assault of Rishabh Pant help Delhi to put 213 runs on the board.
Here are a few tweets:
Only one word for Rishabh Pant today. Wow. The sixes were exquisite but the boundary to get to 50 was simply special.
