IPL 2019: Twitter Lauds Gutsy-Shane Watson For His Knock With A Bleeding Knee
It was a tough night for Chennai Super Kings in the final of the tournament at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Despite the loss, the fans of Chennai Super Kings would be proud of the way their players displayed their skills on the field. One of them was Shane Watson, who batted brilliantly even when he was bleeding the blood.
Shane Watson, who made a desperate earlier in his innings suffered an injury on his knee. The blood started to bleed from his knees but the gritty Shane Watson showed his never-give-up attitude in the middle. He whacked those deliveries out of the park at crucial times of the match but unfortunately, finished on the wrong side of things.
Shane Watson scored 80 off 59 balls:
Getting into the details of the match, initially, it was Quinton took on CSK fast bowlers to the cleaners before being dismissed to Shardul Thakur in the powerplay. He was quickly followed by the dismissal of Rohit Sharma, which made things look bleak for Chennai Super Kings. However, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan balanced things in the middle.
Just when things looked in control for Mumbai, then came the brilliant spell of bowling from Imran Tahir. He dismissed Suryakumar Yadav. His wicket was quickly followed by the dismissal of Krunal Pandya when Shardul took a stunner of the catches in his own bowling.
However, the way Pollard batted in the middle helped Mumbai Indians to get something on the board. For Chennai Super Kings, Imran Tahir and Shardul Thakur was the pick of the bowlers while the rest of the bowlers delivered economical spells to restrict Mumbai for a paltry score in the middle.
In reply to the chase, Chennai Super Kings lost Faf du Plessis after a good start. But, the lack of partnerships failed to make things fall in place for CSK. However, Shane Watson played a blistering knock but, unfortunately, ended up on the wrong side of things.
Here are a few tweets:

Respect for Shane Watson has gone beyond roof. His left knee seems to be badly injured with blood flowing out. He still batted and dived in the last over. Admirable from Watto to put his body on line at 38 after suffering from injuries throughout his career 👏👏 pic.twitter.com/4yqeGoubk4
