Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya powered their side to post 168 runs at the end of 20 overs against Delhi Capitals at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
Meanwhile, opting to bat first after winning the toss, Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock got Mumbai Indians off to a decent start. The added 57-runs in the powerplays with both players going after the bowling without taking additional risk. Although Rohit Sharma was the aggressor between the two, Quinton de Kock didn’t lag behind even. However, the first ball after the powerplays from Amit Mishra cleaned up the Mumbai skipper.
The dismissal of Rohit dried up the runs as Delhi Capitals continued to pick wickets at regular intervals. Ben Cutting, who was promoted in the batting order couldn’t do much as Axar Patel trapped him in front. Delhi Capitals then banked on a runout and a brilliant delivery to get rid of De Kock and Suryakumar Yadav to peg back in the game.
When everybody thought, Mumbai Indians won’t manage to cross the 150-run mark, Hardik Pandya combined with his brother Krunal Pandya to take the score to 168 runs. Hardik chipped in with 32 runs from 15 deliveries including two fours and three boundaries while Krunal was unbeaten on 37 runs from 26 balls.
During his little cameo, Hardik Pandya played some eye-catching shots. In the second delivery of the 20th over, Hardik Pandya played a helicopter shot to muscle Hardik Pandya over long-on from the good-length ball. The dynamic all-rounder stayed deep in his crease and rolled those steely wrists to take the ball over the fence
