Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) scripted an epic comeback fro 24 for four to beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by six wickets in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Needed 18 runs off the last over, Ravindra Jadeja clobbered an unbelievable six to bring down the equation in their favour. Eventually, Mitchell Santner won the tie with a brilliant strike over the long on region.
Chennai strengthen their hold at the top
Meanwhile, the start was awful for the defending champions. At the end of the powerplays, they were striving at 24 runs for the loss of four wickets – Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, and Kedar Jadhav all back to the hut. The Rajasthan Royals bowlers were shedding fire at the Jaipur wicket with Chennai Super Kings staring at their second defeat of the season. But, MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu had different plans. They started to depend on ones, and two’s to bail their side out of danger.
With 50 runs from ten overs, the stage was set for the set batters to accelerate. They took 14 runs from the 11th over of Riyan Parag to initiate the attack. They rotated the strike while the odd boundaries kept coming. Although MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu departed after scoring their half-centuries, Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner ensured they sail past the target.
Unbelievable shot from Jadeja
Meanwhile, the over-boundary from Jadeja in the first ball of the 20th over was simply outstanding. He reached out to a wide delivery to clobber it over long-on fielder. It was an unbelievable shot from Ravindra Jadeja, even going past the one that Andre Russell struck against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Russell was only about to fall down while reaching for a wide one outside off, but Ravindra Jadeja has properly fallen down but has still managed to club it down the ground for six.

Previously, a patient knock from Ben Stokes and last over heroics from Shreyas Gopal after an early flourish from Jos Buttler and Ajinkya Rahane helped Rajasthan Royals to post 151 runs on the board. Sitting at the top with 12 points, Chennai Super Kings will aim to continue the good job going as it enters the business end.
