Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra, who made his career in commentating, believes Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals could face issue on lacking the strength in fast-bowling department owing to the Indian contingent — in the squad for IPL 2020.
The ex-opening batter for India explained it in his SWOT analysis of the Delhi-based franchise. So much so, Chopra feels if Indian pacers would miss out, Capitals can still do well while having Kagiso Rabada and Daniel Sams in the line-up.
“I can’t find too many weaknesses in the Delhi Capitals lineup. There aren’t any glaring weaknesses in this side. There is a minor concern in the fast-bowling department. And that is the Indian fast-bowling department but they can do without them.
“Even if they don’t play Indian fast bowlers, they could still manage because they can play both Kagiso Rabada and Daniel Sams,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube show.

Pertinently, Capitals boast about the experience of Ishant Sharma, who has a lot of expectations — and he could further help the youngsters in the camp.
Chopra reiterated that except Ishant, Indian bowling unit of Capitals don’t offer too much which he believes is their minor weakness.
“Ishant Sharma is already doing well, so they can play him but other than him they do not have depth in the Indian fast bowling department which is the only slight little weakness that I can think of,” Chopra maintained.
With Capitals eyeing their maiden title, they have services of Mohit Sharma, Avesh Khan, Tushar Deshpande and Harshal Patel to rely on. Mohit, who has delivered goods in the lucrative league could be a bowler — to watch out for despite struggling, of late.

Besides during the observation, the 42-year-old Chopra reiterated that he can’t see any major weakness within the squad which is going into the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League.
The former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Chopra is hopeful that it could turn out be a season for Capitals.
“I honestly can’t see weaknesses, I can’t see palpable threats for the Delhi Capitals franchise. This year, fingers crosses, is going to be of the Delhi Capitals is what I feel,” Aakash Chopra added.
Considering other minor threats, Chopra feels new recruits in the lower-middle order could be one of the issues besides the batting positions of Iyer and Rishabh Pant given to their preferred spots.
“If I nitpick, I could say that the players might have to bat away from their favourite spots. Because both Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer might want to play in the top three, which is not possible. Someone will have to play at No.4, if that is a weakness,” Aakash Chopra further said.
Before signing off, Chopra their credited Capitals’ spin bowling attack and believes there won’t be any problem when it comes to the playing XI.
