IPL 2020: David Warner Thanks Kane Williamson And Bhuvneshwar Kumar For Leading SRH In The Last Two Years

Australian batsman David Warner who was re-elected as the captain of SRH extended his thanks to former captain Kane Williamson and Vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar for leading the side so well in the past two years. David Warner who was barred from playing in 2018 due to his involvement in the ball-tampering incident and did not captain the SRH side last season. However, he has been given the responsibility this season yet again to lead the Hyderabad based side.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad squad comprising of Indian and some foreign players have reached UAE, and are quarantining following the BCCI guidelines. David Warner is in the UK to play a bilateral series against England which will end on 16th September and he will travel to UAE on 17th to join his squad.

On his return from a year’s gap, David Warner won the orange cap last year and was reappointed as the captain of SRH this year. In 2018 SRH reached the final under Kane Williamson’s captaincy, however, an injury to him in 2019 forced him to the sidelines and the captaincy was taken over by vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar. David Warner thanked both of them for doing their roles outstandingly.
“Obviously, with me taking over, I just want to say thanks to Kane and Bhuvi. The last two years, you guys have been outstanding for us and taken us to the finals and sitting back and watching was awesome and obviously playing last year was fantastic and gold.”

For all of us, it doesn’t matter if you have a ‘C’ next to your name, we’re all leaders.” David warner said in SRH’s group video call
SRH’s attempt to win their second IPL title
Sunrisers Hyderabad who won the IPL in 2016 under the captaincy of David Warner will once again fight for the title in the 13th edition of the IPL. Head coach Trevor Bayliss told the squad in the group video call, how this IPL will be different than the other editions.
He also highlighted on the fact that there would be many rest days for the players during the practice sessions to avoid injuries and fatigue. The SRH team is well balanced with veterans and youngsters and have a good team to challenge for the title.
The IPL 2020 will begin from September 19 till November 10, a total 53-day campaign will see all the 8 teams play in UAE. The venue this time is UAE and matches will be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
