IPL 2020: Delhi Capitals vs Rajasthan Royals – RR Predicted XI

Rajasthan Royals (RR) middle-order has been a problem this Indian Premier League (IPL) season, but they won their last match against SRH because of their middle-order batsmen’s effort. The victory would have surely boosted their confidence as they move to play their next match against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday (October 14) in Dubai.

To beat Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals is likely to enter with the same XI, which had won the match against SRH. Moreover, they are going to collide against each other for the second time in the ongoing IPL 2020. In their first meeting in Sharjah, RR had faced defeat. But they will like to register the victory in Dubai to maintain their winning streak.

Rajasthan Royals predicted XI against Delhi Capitals:

1. Jos Buttler:

Jos Buttler is a vital cog for Rajasthan Royals, but he has lost his wicket cheaply and early in the last two matches. His early return to the pavilion had hurt the team. He would look to play a big knock against Delhi Capitals, which has the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Ravichandran Ashwin.

2. Steve Smith:

In the last match against SRH, Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler were the opening pairs, but there were no positive results out of that strategy. So, Steve Smith will once again promote himself in the opener position. The Rajasthan Royals captain has played three matches as the opener this season, and the result has also been positive.

3. Sanju Samson:

Sanju Samson started the season like a firestorm, but after the first two matches, he has fizzled out. Well, this has always been the story for the Indian cricketer. In last season as well, after playing, two impressive knocks, he struggled to bat in the next matches. But Rajasthan Royals will want him to make a stronger comeback against Delhi Capitals to open their path for winning.

4. Robin Uthappa:

Robin Uthappa has not given the output par with his experience. He has scored 5, 9, 2, 17 and 18 runs respectively in the ongoing IPL 2020. The veteran batsman will be backed for further three to four games to give him the chance to find his form back.

5. Riyan Parag:

The youngster starred in the victory against SRH. He stitched a gritty partnership with Rahul Tewaita while scored 42 runs off 26 balls to guide Rajasthan Royals to get over the line. The franchise will want him to give a similar performance during the tournament to keep them in a good position.

6. Ben Stokes:

Ben Stokes return has made Rajasthan Royals bowling and batting unit look stronger. Although he could not score in his first match of the IPL 2020 against SRH, he is the match-winner for any team. England allrounder will act as the finisher while his contribution to bowling will also play a crucial role for them.

7. Rahul Tewatia:

Rahul Tewatia has come out as the game-changer for Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing season. He has two times lead the team to victory with his hard-hitting batting. When there was no hope of RR’s victory, Tewatia has stood up to be the warrior for them. The franchise will want him to give the similar performance and always be their hope in this season.

8. Jofra Archer:

Jofra Archer is playing as the allrounder this season. His small but impactful innings with the bat have helped Rajasthan Royals to put a good score on the board. The pacer has picked up nine wickets in seven matches at the economy rate of 6.82 while has scored 88 runs at the strike rate of 220.00.

9. Shreyas Gopal:

The leg-spinner has been effective in the UAE pitches. He has picked up four wickets in seven matches. Apart from bowling, he is also a big-hitter at the lower order. Royals will look from to pick quick wickets of DC’s talent batsmen.

10. Kartik Tyagi:

Kartik Tyagi will play his fourth match of IPL 2020 against the Rajasthan Royals. He has picked one wicket in each in the last three matches, including the wicket of Quinton de Kock and Shimron Hetmyer. The pacer has got the praise from many former cricketers for his bowling action and pace bowling. The franchise will expect him to have a great season and give them breakthroughs.

11. Jaydev Unadkat:

Although the pacer has proved expensive, he has retained his place in the playing XI. He has picked only two wickets in five matches at the poor economy rate of 9.37. He was dropped against Delhi Capitals in their first meeting and in place of him Varun Aaron was included who proved to be more expensive than Unadkat. So, the Saurashtra cricketer will be given the place in the XI.
