With a strong will, SunRisers Hyderabad qualified for the playoffs and will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB ) in the eliminator of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Abu Dhabi will host the crucial encounter on Friday (November 6).
Struggling from the start of the tournament to find a proper batting combination to three players being ruled out of injury, SunRisers Hyderabad raised through the ranks with determination and hunger to be alive in the competition until the last game. But they still are far from being the winners. It would be a cracker against RCB.
Here, let’s take a look at SunRisers Hyderabad predicted XI:
Wriddhiman Saha (wk):
Wriddhiman Saha has impressed with his batting in the last three matches. Against DC, he played a sensational knock of 87 runs to leave everyone in awe-struck. In the last match against RCB, while chasing a below-par target of 121 runs, he set a good base for the team, scoring 39 off 32 balls. Likewise against MI, he remained unbeaten and stitched up a match-winning partnership with David Warner to take the game home. SunRisers Hyderabad has found him at the correct time of the tournament.
David Warner (c):
After a disappointing match against KXIP, SRH captain David Warner has went all gun blazing in the last couple of matches. Against DC, he amassed 66 runs off 34 balls and struck eight fours and two sixes. Similarly, he played a fiery knock against MI to take the team to playoffs.
Manish Pandey:
Manish Pandey, who was the match-winner for SunRisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals, scored 44 runs off 31 balls and struck four fours and one sixes against DC.
The Indian batsman has very handled the pressure and took them across the line. His role will be crucial against RCB.
Kane Williamson:
Kane Williamson might be disappointed with his performance against RCB. He was out after scoring 8 runs off 14 balls although his early fall of wicket didn’t hurt the team. Against MI, he didn’t get the opportunity to bat, but he will look to make it count against SRH.
Abhishek Sharma:
Vijay Shankar’s injury has allowed Abhishek Sharma. He surfaced from a hamstring injury against DC and is ruled out of the tournament. Now, Sharma has a big responsibility to fill up his shoes.
Abdul Samad:
Abdul Samad, the power-hitter, has featured in nine matches but has not got enough opportunities to bat. Contrastingly, he has also failed to prove his mettle whenever he has got the chance. With his short cameo in his first match, he had gathered a lot of praise. But the youngster has not stood up to the expectations. He will look to play a capitalise on the opportunity if he gets against RCB.
Jason Holder:
The inclusion of Jason Holder has given SRH captain a good bowling option while his power hitting at lower-order has helped them to finish the games on a good note. In the last meeting RCB, the fast bowling allrounder dismantled their lower-order batsman, and while batting, he struck sixes to take the game home. SunRisers Hyderabad will want him to replicate the similar performance in the eliminator.
Priyam Garg:
Priyam Garg had a huge responsibility to play as a finisher, but his performance has not been consistent. He was out after scoring three runs against KXIP even though the target was not daunting. The youngster will want to prove his worth in eliminator.
Rashid Khan:
Rashid Khan is the lynchpin for SunRisers Hyderabad. Against DC, he demolished their batting order while also chocked them to score runs. He picked three wickets while gave away only 7 runs in his four overs quota. Likewise against RCB, he got the wicket of Josh Phillippe.
The spinner is the leading wicket-taker for them, snaring 19 wickets in 13 matches.
Sandeep Sharma:
Sandeep Sharma had set the momentum for SunRisers Hyderabad, picking early wickets of Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli in the last meeting with RCB. In his four overs quota, he bowled at the economy rate of 5.00. The speedster needs to repeat a similar performance against them in the eliminator.
T Natrajan:
T Natrajan, the vital cog of SunRisers Hyderabad, snared two wickets against DC while conceded 26 runs in his four overs quota. Against RCB, he picked the wicket of Washington Sundar, who was going to be the dangerman for them, while gave away only 11 runs in his four overs. He needs to be consistent in the eliminator.
Shahbaz Nadeem:
The left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem got the prized wicket of AB de Villiers to restrict RCB to a below part total. Against the top-notch Mumbai Indians, he got the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya. As the tournament has moved on, he has been more consistent. SunRisers Hyderabad has a higher expectation from him.
