IPL 2020: Kings XI Punjab vs Delhi Capitals – KXIP Predicted XI

After their last win against Mumbai Indians (MI), Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) has climbed to number six position in the points table of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. With unprecedented things happening this season, it might not be wrong to say that their chances to qualify for playoffs are still alive. But they will have to win the coming five matches somehow.

On Tuesday, Kings XI Punjab will clash against Delhi Capitals, who are topping the points table. They need to take this match home to move above in the table. Let’s take a look at how KXIP playing XI can shape in to combat DC’s attack.

Kings XI Punjab playing XI against Delhi Capitals:

1. KL Rahul (c & wk):

KL Rahul is leading the table of scoring most runs. He has amassed 525 runs in nine matches at the strike rate of 135.66. Kings XI Punjab captain will be a lot more confident after sealing victories back to back in the last two matches. He will be positive to win the game against Delhi Capitals.

2. Mayank Agarwal:

Mayank Agarwal is the second-highest scorer of the tournament so far. In nine matches, he has scored 393 runs at a healthy strike rate of 159.11. The right-hand batsman has set up a match-winning partnership with KL Rahul and will look to do the same against Delhi Capitals.

3.Chris Gayle:

Chris Gayle is back with full power. After missing action because of several reasons, he was back against RCB in KXIP’s second meeting. He earlier struggled to face balls, but he bounced stronger and started smacking sixes to RCB bowlers. He scored 53 runs off 45 balls, striking five maximums. Kings XI Punjab will want him to give a similar performance against Delhi Capitals.

4. Nicholas Pooran:

Nicholas Pooran is taking responsibility to score runs after KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, and he is the only good positive factor that has come out for Kings XI Punjab this season. The Windies is going to play a significant role for the team this season.

5. Glenn Maxwell:

Although Glenn Maxwell is struggling to score runs, Kings XI Punjab will back him in another four to five games seeing his exploits in international cricket. He will be expected to find his form soon. Otherwise, the team will get hurt in further matches as well.

6. Deepak Hooda:

Deepak Hooda is a power-hitter and a good six bowling option. The spin bowling allrounder played a significant role against Mumbai Indians to take the game to super over. He scored unbeaten 23 runs in 16 balls. He is likely to retain his place in the playing XI against KXIP.

7. Chris Jordan:

Chris Jordan proved to be economical against RCB although he didn’t pick wickets. He is known for his quality death bowler, and some hard-hitting shots lower down the order. Against MI, he also scored a couple of runs. The fast bowling allrounder will be in the playing XI.

8. Ravi Bishnoi:

The young spinner Ravi Bishnoi is the lynchpin for King XI Punjab. He has picked up nine wickets in nine matches. Against SRH, he brought Kings XI Punjab back in the game by breaking the century partnership of Jonny Bairstow and David Warner.

9. Mohammed Shami:

Mohammed Shami is in the best form of his career. He has picked up 14 wickets in nine matches at an economy rate of 8.73. The pacer is a vital cog for Kings XI Punjab who is struggling this season.

10. Murugan Ashwin:

Murugan Ashwin, the leg-spinner, has featured in four matches and has picked up six wickets at a decent economy rate of 7.65. He will be playing against Delhi Capitals.

The youngster got his first game for KXIP against SRH and impressed everyone with his performance. The left-arm pacer bagged two wickets of Manish Pandey and Priyam Garg. Against RCB, he picked the wicket of Devdutt Padikkal.

In the last thriller match against Mumbai Indians, he notched up the crucial wicket of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. He is unarguably going to play against Delhi Capitals.
