IPL 2020: Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals – DC Predicted XI

Delhi Capitals are at the top of the points table of winning five matches out of six while Mumbai Indians are just below them after winning four matches out of six. Now, the top two teams are going to face off each other on Sunday (October 11) in Abu Dhabi. Notably, this is the first meeting between DC and MI this season.

Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, Delhi Capitals have emerged out as the strongest team this season. With the likes of experienced as well as young and talented players, they are going to give a tough fight to the defending champion. DC will not do many changes in the playing XI because they are already a well-settled team.

Delhi Capitals predicted XI against Mumbai Indians:

1.Prithvi Shaw:

The attacking batsman has scored 198 runs in six matches at the strike rate of 151.14. He has, however, has given a flying start to the team but is yet to play a big knock. He has lost his wicket because of the rush to play big shots. His silly mistake might cost DC. The franchise will want him to play sensible knock against Mumbai Indians, who have world-class bowlers in their squad.

2.Shikhar Dhawan:

Shikhar Dhawan is yet to play a big knock from his bat. In the last six matches, he has not crossed the 50 runs mark in a match. The veteran has scored only 132 runs at an average of 22.20 in six matches. According to the experience he has under his belt, Dhawan has not produced the desired results. The southpaw will look to get a good score on board for Delhi Capitals against Mumbai Indians.

3.Shreyas Iyer:

Shreyas Iyer has been looking in a great form this season. His shot selection and execution makes one understand that he is a danger to the opposition. Against KKR, he scored his first fifty while leading his team to the victory. Overall, the Indian cricketer has scored 203 runs in six matches.

The young captain has also been praised for his street-smart tactic to use bowlers to put pressure on the opposition efficiently.

4.Rishabh Pant:

Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper-batsman, has fulfilled the role of power-hitting in the last three matches. Unlike last year, he is not under pressure and scrutiny. He has so far also shown his impressive skill with gloves as well as bat. The youngster has scored 176 runs in six matches. Delhi Capitals will expect to him to play scintillating innings against Mumbai Indians.

5. Shimron Hetmyer:

After struggling Shimron Hetmyer is also the power hitter for Delhi Capitals. After struggling in the first few matches, the Windies played a gun-blazing knock against RR in Sharjah. He scored 45 off 24 balls, striking five sixes. He will look to maintain a similar form against Mumbai Indians.

6.Marcus Stoinis:

The allrounder Marcus Stoinis had already shown his worth for Delhi Capitals in their opener match against CSK. He scored a quick fifty while also picked two wickets in his last over to take the game to super over. In the last match against RR as well, he built a partnership with Hetmyer while also picked two crucial wickets to take the game home. DC will want him to make his performance count with both bat and ball to beat MI.

7. Harshal Patel:

Harshal Patel played the first match of the Indian Premier League 2020 against RR and rocked in it. The 29-year-old seamer picked two crucial wickets of Nitish Rana and Dinesh Karthik to bring back Delhi Capitals in the game. In the last match against RR, his short batting partnership with Axar Patel helped DC to post 184 on board. He has proved not only a good bowling option but can also with the bat.

8. Ravichandran Ashwin:

Ravichandran Ashwin starred in the Delhi Capitals victory against Rajasthan Royals. He picked the wicket of Jos Buttler in the powerplay and then picked the wicket of Mahipal Lomror. The veteran spinner returned with the figure of 4-0-22-2 and was adjudged with the player of the match. If he continues the same form in the coming matches, Delhi Capitals are going to enjoy huge success.

9. Axar Patel:

The bowling allrounder’s short cameo against Rajasthan Royals has impressed everyone. He scored 17 off 8 balls, striking two fours and one six. With the ball, he bowled two overs and picked one wicket. As Amit Mishra has been ruled out, he will take the command of spin bowling for DC in further matches.

10.Kagiso Rabada:

Kagiso Rabada is the match-winner for Delhi Capitals. His pace and accurate line and length had threatened the opposition to not hit him for big. In the last six matches, he has picked up a total of 15 wickets at an amazing economy rate of 7.81. To win against MI, his role will be pivotal.

11. Anrich Nortje:

Anrich Nortje has successfully done the job for Delhi Capitals. Against CSK, the pacer gave a remarkable performance picking two wickets while giving only 21 runs in his four overs quota. At Sharjah, he played a pivotal role to bring them back in both the game against KKR and RR. DC will want him to remain consistent throughout the tournament.
