Delhi Capitals (DC) have got the last chance to be in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 when they meet the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday (November 8) in Abu Dhabi. They have faced defeat in the first qualifier against Mumbai Indians but still, have the opportunity to lift the maiden title if they somehow defeat SRH.

Delhi Capitals’ need to end their run drought to combat SRH. Their top-order, except Shikhar Dhawan, has not got good runs on the board which has halted the middle-order to play freely.

Talking about their bowling unit, they were badly beaten by Mumbai Indians in the first qualifier. Although Ashwin gave early breakthroughs, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje could not be useful in death overs. As a result, DC got a massive 201 runs target.

To beat SRH, Delhi Capitals need to bring back their A-game and forget what’s done in the last match. Here, let’s take a look at how DC Predicted XI can shape in-

Prithvi Shaw:

The left-hand batsman, Prithvi Shaw failed yet another time to give a good start to the team in the vital clash, going out for a duck. His poor form has already done much damage to the team, but the youngster would be backed because any last moment drastic damage might not be helpful for DC.

Shikhar Dhawan:

The only in form batsman, Shikhar Dhawan, got out for a duck against Mumbai Indians when Jasprit Bumrah bowled an unplayable yorker to him. Delhi Capitals is over-reliant on him, so he needs to play a  play firey and big knock.

Ajinkya Rahane:

After opening in his first four innings, Ajinkya Rahane got to bat at number third position against RCB. He played an instrumental role in taking Delhi Capitals to victory, scoring 60 runs off 46 balls. The franchise will retain him in the same position for the qualifiers.

Shreyas Iyer:

Delhi capitals Shreyas Iyer has been ineffective in the last couple of matches. While the top-order failing to give a good momentum, he has been struggling to rebuild innings under pressure. Against MI, he played some good shots but could not stay for long in the field. He needs to stay for a longer period in the field and play impactful knock.

Rishabh Pant:

The wicket-keeper batsman, Rishabh Pant, has not been able to accelerate the innings for Delhi Capitals after he has returned to the team after recovering from injury. He had several opportunities to become the hero for DC, but he has failed to stand up to the expectations. He has not been to score a half-century, so far, in this season while his highest score is 38 runs. While all eyes on him, Pant needs to get runs for them.

Shimron Hetmyer:

The power hitter, Shimron Hetmyer, has also given a disappointing performance. In their second meeting against MI, he lost his wicket for 11 runs after in a hurry to play a hot. He was dropped against RCB, and Daniel Sams replaced him. While Sams didn’t get the opportunity to bat, he was expensive with the ball, leaking 40 runs in four overs. So, Shimron Hetmyer will return to the playing XI.

Marcus Stoinis:

Marcus Stoinis, the fast-bowling allrounder, scored 65 off 46 balls but it was not sufficient to take the game home for Delhi Capitals against Mumbai Indians. Seeing the poor run of the top order, he might also be promoted as the opener.

Delhi Capitals allrounder played a 44 runs knock against MI, but it could not change the game for them while with bowling, he could not pick wickets. He needs to put the best in the plat against SRH to keep their IPL dream alive.

Kagiso Rabada:

The major set back for Delhi Capitals was Kagiso Rabada going wicketless against Mumbai Indians while leaking too many runs. As his four overs are decisive for DC, he will have to break through to his side against SRH.

Ravichandran Ashwin:

Ravichandran Ashwin was only the positive for Delhi Capitals. He sent Rohit Sharma for a golden duck while picked the wicket of Quinton de Kock to give a breakthrough. The spinner also got the wicket of Kieron Pollard for a duck. Albeit all his effort could not be enough, but he needs to remain positive for the next opportunity.

Anrich Nortje:

Anrich Nortje proved to be the most expensive bowler, leaking 50 runs in his four overs while picking only one wicket. He is the main bowler for Delhi Capitals if he didn’t get the rhythm back, the franchise might also suffer. The speedster needs to bounce back stronger against SRH.
