Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday (October 25) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.
With CSK having a forgetful season this year, Royal Challengers Bangalore have the upper hand in the game. Also, they are surely riding on confidence after registering a comprehensive win in the last match against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Here, let’s take a look at Royal Challengers Bangalore predicted playing XI for the fixture:
Devdutt Padikkal has taken off the burden from Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to score runs, but he has struggled to get going after the powerplay. Meanwhile, in the last match, he lost his wicket in a bizarre run-out. Royal Challengers Bangalore will want him to play a big knock against CSK.
Royal Challengers Bangalore had bought Aaron Finch to release pressure from Virat and de Villiers’s shoulder to score runs, but he has been completely a dud so far in the tournament. After scoring a half-century in the first meeting with Mumbai Indians, he has struggled to give a good start to the side. His poor form in the UAE is hurting the team, but he will retain his place in the XI seeing RCB has not a good backup option.
Virat Kohli is surely extremely delighted with the team’s performance this season. Earlier, he had struggled to find his form, but after the match against Rajasthan Royals, runs have not stopped pouring from his bat. He will look to again register a win against CSK.
AB de Villiers:
AB de Villiers has earned a new nickname ‘Super Human’ this season after his powerful knocks in the last couple of matches. Against RR, when RCB needed 35 runs off two overs, the proteas went berserk in Jaydev Unadkat’s over. He hit consecutive sixes while also beaten Jofra Archer to guide RCB to an unbelievable win. So, until he is in the field, RCB can never be out of the game.
Gurkeerat Mann Singh:
Gurkeerat Singh has got the opportunity to bat in the last two matches alongside AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli and scored 19* and 21* runs respectively to guide the team to victory. To stitch partnerships with two big players, it was good exposure for him. He will look to capitalise if he again gets the opportunity to bat against CSK.
In the last match against KKR, Washington Sundar conceded only 14 runs in his four-over quota while also picked one wicket. The spin-bowling allrounder has come out as the crucial bowler for them in the powerplay.
In the first meeting with CSK, he has picked up two wickets while leaked 16 runs in his three overs. He will look to repeat a similar performance in their second meeting.
The tall fast-bowling allrounder Shivam Dube has not got enough opportunity in the last matches, but he will have to be ready to deliver whenever the captain asks him to. He is the power-hitter and has also got the knack of picking wickets.
Chris Morris has added balance to the team in the bowling department. He has given breakthroughs to the side while also is a good death over bowling option for them. In five matches, he has picked up nine wickets at the economy rate of 5.00.
Isuru Udana has also got the knack for picking crucial wickets in crunch situations. He has snared seven wickets in eight matches. In the last match, he went wicketless. He will look to bounce back stronger against CSK.
Yuzvendra Chahal is the go-to-man for Virat Kohli whenever the team needs a wicket. The spinner’s lethal weapon googly has delivered wickets to him.
In the first meeting with CSK, he played a mind game with captain MS Dhoni and eventually, picked his wicket in the last ball. Royal Challengers Bangalore will want him to guide them to victory against CSK again.
After his magical bowling against KKR, Mohammed Siraj’s place in the playing XI has become unquestionable. He bowled two maiden overs and became the first bowler in IPL history to do so. The pacer returned with the figure of 4-2-8-3 to restrict Kolkata for 84 runs.
If he again registers the same bowling figures against CSK, Royal Challengers Bangalore is going to win the match comfortably.
