IPL 2020: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals – RCB Predicted XI

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has almost ticked all the boxes right in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Their death over bowling had been a problem in past seasons but the Indian pacer Navdeep Saini has stepped in — to take that responsibility this season.

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are the two who always has the burden to score runs but the youngster Devdutt Padikkal has taken off that pressure from them. Yuzvendra Chahal, as usual, is delivering his best. As a result, RCB has turned out to be a strong side.

Moreover, with six points, they are at the number two position in the points table, winning three matches out of four played. It is not a usual sight to see RCB at the top of the table.

Now, their next battle is against Delhi Capitals at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Monday (October 4). Delhi Capitals, led by Shreyas Iyer, are leading the points table. They have also won three matches out of four.

To beat DC, RCB will have to put the best XI in the table because Delhi has some amazing talent with the likes of Prithvi Shaw and Kagiso Rabada. Here, we have picked the XI with which RCB can come against DC.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Predicted XI-

1. Devdutt Paddikkal:

Playing maiden IPL season, Devdutt Padikkal starred in RCB’s victory in the last match against Rajasthan Royals (RR). The youngster with ease faced Jofra Archer and other bowlers to score his third fifty of the tournament. Overall, in four matches, he has scored 174 runs at the strike rate of 134.88. If he gives similar performance throughout the tournament, it will be a big boost for RCB.

2. Aaron Finch:

Aaron Finch has given a decent start to the team but he has not been up to the mark. His contribution is crucial to the team at the top to release the burden to score runs from the middle-order. In total, he has scored 109 runs, including one half-century, at the strike rate of 121.11. Royal Challengers Bangalore will want him to be aggressive against DC.

3. Virat Kohli:

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli was waiting for just one big knock to bring back him in the game. And that, he got in the last match against RR, scoring his first fifty of the IPL 2020. Before this match, Kohli even struggled to touch 20 runs mark.

But finally, the ventage Kohli was seen back in the ground, hitting a cover drive and eye-soothing shots. The skipper is back into the groove which is the best news for RCB as they move on to play against DC.

4. AB de Villiers:

AB de Villiers, Royal Challengers batting mainstay, has got the responsibility to don the glove this year. The Proteas has very well handled that job while also scoring runs for the team. He has scored 146 runs in four matches at the strike rate of 178.04.

5. Gurkeerat Mann Singh

Gurkeerat Mann Singh has been part of the last two matches of Royal Challengers Bangalore playing XI but has not got the chance to bat. The franchise will want him to deliver when he gets the opportunity. Apart from batting, his fielding is also an asset to the team.

Talking about his credentials, the 30-year-old has good records for India ‘A’ and for Punjab in first-class cricket. He has amassed 1624 runs in 99 matches in T20 in domestic cricket. He is likely to get a place in the playing XI against DC.

6.Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar starred for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the victory against Mumbai Indians. His excellent bowling in powerplay suffocated MI to score runs. The spinner also picked the prized wicket of Rohit Sharma. Moreover, he conceded no boundary in his four overs quota, registering an economy rate of 3.00.

Earlier, against Kings XI Punjab, he had also snared over 30 runs to show his batting prowess although RCB could not register the victory. In the last match against RR, he didn’t get the chance to bat but was most economical bowling, giving away 20 runs in his four overs.  So, Sundar’s position in RCB’s XI is undoubtedly locked.

7. Shivam Dube

The towering allrounder is the power-hitter of the team. Although so far he has not enough chance to bat, Shivam has secured the opportunity of hitting big sixes and boundaries to release pressure for the team. The right-hand batsman had hit long sixes off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling, showing his power with bat. Also, with the ball, the fast bowler has got the ability to pick wickets. Seeing his potential, Dube is likely to play all the matches of this season.

8. Navdeep Saini

Navdeep Saini has become the backbone of RCB’s bowling attack. His four overs in every match are most precious and decisive for the team. The youngster’s super over spell and death over bowling against Mumbai Indians shows how talented he is.

Against the power hitters Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard in the one-over eliminator, he just conceded eight runs. In the last match against RR, he snared the wicket of Jos Buttler, who was looking dangerman for RCB. This shows how pivotal he is for RCB.

9. Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal is an indispensable part of Royal Challengers Bangalore. He is the leading wicket-taker of the team, picking eight wickets in four matches and also currently, the holder of purple caps. The leg spinners is the go-to-man for Virat Kohli.

Adam Zampa, who is the end moment replacement of Kane Richardson, played the first IPL match for RCB against MI. The left-arm spinner dismissed the most coveted wicket of Hardik Pandya while also proved to be expensive against Kieron Pollard.

Zampa, however, had an outstanding series against Australia before entering IPL. He is in good form and could be the game-changer for the Royals in coming matches.

11. Isuru Udana

As Dale Steyn and Umesh Yadav proved expensive in the first two matches, Isuru Udana got the opportunity to play for RCB against MI. And the decision also proved right for the team. The Sri Lankan pacer picked two crucial wickets of Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav.

In the last match against RR, he picked the prize wicket of Steve Smith and Riyan Parag. Also, he is also a good death-over bowling option for the team. His inclusion in the XI has balanced Royal Challengers Bangalore’s bowling.
