After winning their first match in Sharjah against Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are set to play their next match in the same venue against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Thursday (October 15).
With an all-around team effort, Royal Challengers Bangalore had registered a comprehensive win of 82 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Their bowling attack has always been a problem, but they choked KKR batsman to score runs. There were a lot more positive for RCB to take out from that match which will help them to boost their confidence as they strive to win the trophy this year.
To combat KXIP, RCB will not take a risk to disturb their playing XI which played against KKR. They also have the upper hand in the game because they are well acquainted with the pitch condition.
Royal Challengers Bangalore Predicted XI against KXIP:
Devdutt Padikkal has taken off the burden from Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to score runs. In just the last seven matches, he has registered three-half centuries and maintained a healthy strike rate of 126.56. Overall, he has scored 243 runs. If the youngster remains consistent and always gives a good start to the team, RCB will always have a good score on the board.
Aaron Finch has played decent knocks but is yet to play a big knock. He has scored 171 runs in seven matches at the strike rate of 114.00. In the last match in Sharjah, he had scored 47 runs and gave a good start to the team. Royal Challengers Bangalore will expect from Australia’s white-ball captain to give a similar performance against KXIP.
3. Virat Kohli (c):
Against KKR in Sharjah, Virat Kohli had struggled to score runs because of the slowish pitch condition. But as now he had already got acquainted with its condition, the Royal Challengers Bangalore captain will look to play a big knock and save his wicket.
4. AB de Villiers (wk):
AB de Villiers is going to be the difference-maker between RCB and KXIP. Every batter struggled to score runs in Sharjah in the last match, but AB was unstoppable. The flamboyant batsman went on to score 73 runs off 33 balls, striking five fours and six sixes to demolish KKR’s attack. If de Villiers plays a similar knock against KXIP, nobody could stop Royal Challengers Bangalore to win the match.

Washington Sundar is bowling exceptionally this season. In the last match against KKR, he snared two wickets while gave away only 20 runs in his four overs spell. He partnered with Yuzvendra Chahal to suffocate the batsman to score runs in middle-overs which guided Royal Challengers Bangalore to an emphatic win. The off-spinner has become the match-winner for RCB.
6. Shivam Dube:
Shivam Dube is the power-hitter of Royal Challengers Bangalore. He has got the ability to hit long sixes and take on the bowlers at death overs. However, the towering allrounder has not got many chances because of the massive contribution from top-order. He will be looking to capitalize on the opportunity to score good runs for his side against KXIP.
7. Chirs Morris:
Chris Morris is the key player for Royal Challengers Bangalore. After missing five matches because of injury, the fast bowling allrounder has joined the playing XI. His addition has made RCB’s bowling attack more stronger. In two matches, he has picked up five wickets at the staggering economy rate of 4.50. Morris is going to play a pivotal role to fulfil RCB’s dream to lift the trophy.
8. Isuru Udana:
Isuru Udana has got the knack of picking wickets at crucial stages. The pacer has picked up seven wickets in five matches. Although he has not been economical, he has succeeded in giving breakthroughs to Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Navdeep Saini spearhead’s RCB’s bowling attack. The youngster has improved his ability to bowl perfect yorkers and can quite comfortably clock more than 140 kmph on the speed gun. In the last match against KKR, he bowled three overs and conceded only 17 runs while also picked one wicket.
10. Yuzvendra Chahal:
Yuzvendra Chahal is the game-changer and match-winner for Royal Challengers Bangalore. His mind games bamboozle batsmen while his accuracy helps him to get the wickets easily. The wrist-spinner has picked up 10 wickets in seven matches at the economy rate of 7.07.
11. Mohammed Siraj:
Mohammed Siraj has snared three wickets in the last two matches. He has also got the ability to pick wickets at crunch situations to bring back his side in the game.
