IPL 2020: New Zealand Star Flies To UAE To Join Sunrisers Hyderabad Squad

Sunrisers Hyderabad star Kane Williamson is on his way from New Zealand to join his squad in UAE. Williamson posted a picture of him on Instagram with his Newzealand teammate Jimmy Neesham on a plane, captioning it as. “First trip in a while! ?? Looking forward to catching up with the Orange army,”.

In 2018 SRH reached the final under Kane Williamson’s captaincy, however, an injury to him in 2019 forced him to the sidelines and the captaincy was taken over by vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He was also the orange cap winner in 2018 scoring a mammoth 735 runs for the SRH.

Sunrisers Hyderabad tweet to announce Kane Williamson’s expected arrival

The official twitter handle of SRH tweeted the picture posted by Kane Williamson on his Instagram to announce their star batsman was on his way to join with the squad. He will go straight into a six-day quarantine and will go through 3 Covid-19 tests, after which he will be allowed to enter the bio-bubble.

“Look who’s on his way to UAE”. SRH tweeted reposting Kane Williamson’s picture.

Before leaving for the UAE, Williamson had been open about his apprehension of playing in the IPL this year for safety concerns due to the pandemic going on around the world. The statement came on the backdrop of 13 members of the Chennai Super Kings camp testing positive for coronavirus, out of which two were players.

SRH’s will attempt to win their second IPL title

Sunrisers Hyderabad who won the IPL in 2016 under the captaincy of David Warner will once again fight for the title in the 13th edition of the IPL. On his return from a year’s gap, David Warner won the orange cap last year and was reappointed as the captain of SRH this year.

The SRH team is well balanced with veterans and youngsters and have a good team to challenge for the title. The squad has already begun their training after going through the quarantine.
