Oct 13, 2020 at 4:43 PM
Chennai Super Kings are scheduled to play their eighth match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 against SunRisers Hyderabad on Tuesday (October 13) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Chennai Super Kings had already faced defeat against SRH in their first meeting in Dubai. They need to win their second clash against David Warner’s XI to keep their chances of entering the playoffs alive. However, CSK will not make any changes in their playing XI but would demand from batters to be more aggressive.
Chennai Super Kings predicted XI against SunRisers Hyderabad:
1. Shane Watson:
Shane Watson is back in a form which has given Chennai Super Kings a big sigh of relief. After struggling in the first five matches, he got his form back against Kings XI Punjab, scoring unbeaten 83 runs. Against KKR, he also scored half-century although it could not end up in winning cause. But if he remains consistent, it will be a big boost for the Yellow Army.
2. Faf du Plessis:
Faf du Plessis is the leading scorer for Chennai Super Kings. The team heavily depends on his batting performance after Suresh Raina has backed out of the tournament. He needs to stay longer in the field to keep up the hope of the team’s victory.
3. Ambati Ryaudu:
After taking the team to win single-handedly in the season opener, Ambati Rayudu has failed to replicate that performance. He, however, has scored decent runs for the team but Chennai Super Kings will want him to get a good partnership.
4. MS Dhoni:
MS Dhoni has promoted himself up in the order after not finding any results while batting at no.7. He also has a huge responsibility on his shoulder to support the struggling middle-order. The skipper will have to play big knocks in this season to keep Chennai Super Kings in a good position.
5. N Jagadeesan:
After benching for CSK in last season, N Jagadeesan has finally got the opportunity to bat after Kedar Jadhav’s failure. In the last match against RCB, he stitched up over 64-runs partnership with Ambati Rayudu however it could be given CSK the victory. But if he scores consistently in coming matches, CSK can get in a good position.
6. Sam Curran:
Sam Curran was included in the team as a replacement for Dwayne Bravo, but he has impressed with his all-round performance. Although he didn’t have amassed many runs, his innings was impactful because he had hit some big shots to release the pressure. So, he has become the vital cog for Chennai Super Kings.
7. Ravindra Jadeja:
Ravindra Jadeja has got things right with the bat but not with the ball. In the matches against SRH and KKR, he showed his power-hitting. But his spin bowling has not been effective. The franchise is hoping for him to repeat the IPL 2014 performance when he got the nerves of the opposition with his allrounder performance in the UAE.
8. Shardul Thakur:
Shardul Thakur is the underrated fast bowler in the Indian Premier League. He has got the knack of picking up wickets and giving breakthroughs to the team. Apart from bowling, he also adds depth to the batting.
9. Dwayne Bravo:
Dwayne Bravo is the lynchpin for the team with both bat and ball. Although he has not got a chance to bat, he has delivered some good spells with the ball in the last three matches. The allrounder’s absence in the first three matches had also affected the team’s performance. With his return, the team has got depth in batting while also an effective bowling option.
10. Karn Sharma:
Karn Sharma has replaced Piyush Chawal in the playing XI after he proved expensive. The off-spinner also produced desired results as he picked up two wickets and conceding only 25 runs in his four-over quotas. He is likely to maintain his spot in the XI against SRH.
11.Deepak Chahar:
Chennai Super Kings will go with only one fast bowler in the playing XI, i.e., Deepak Chahar. Although they have Lungi Nigdi and Josh Hazelwood in their squad, the youngster has given more promising performance. Chahar has snared six wickets in the last seven matches.
