SunRisers Hyderabad has got a huge blow as their experienced pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. The franchise has announced Andhra Pardesh player Prithvi Raj Yarra as Kumar’s replacement. After losing three games out of five, SRH is already struggling because of their inexperienced middle-order and now the absence of a premier pacer might affect their performance further.
SunRisers Hyderabad is set to play its sixth match of IPL 2020 against Kings XI Punjab on Thursday (October 8). This is the first meeting of the two franchises in the ongoing tournament.
To combat KXIP, SRH will have to come with a balanced playing XI. On that note, here we have discussed Hyderabad’s predicted XI against KL Rahul’s side.
SunRisers Hyderabad predicted XI:
SunRisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner is famous for being attacking and aggressive and staying long in the field to dismantle the opposition. But the Aussie cricketer has failed to do so in the first four matches, as a result, they struggled to put a good score on board. Warner, however, returned in his form in the last match against Mumbai Indians. He amassed 60 runs off 44 balls but could not guide his team to victory. The franchise would expect him to play captain-like knock against KXIP.
2. Jonny Bairstow:
Jonny Bairstow, the wicketkeeper-batsman, has also struggled with the bat. Overall, he has scored 175 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 123.23. To beat KXIP, he needs to set up an opening partnership with David Warner to put less pressure on the middle-order.
3. Manish Pandey:
Manish Pandey has played decent knocks but has not lived up to the expectations. As having an inexperienced middle-order, he has a big role to play at no.3 position. In the last five matches, he has snared 147 runs, including one half-century, at the strike rate of 126.72. SRH will want from him to build innings for them against KXIP.
4. Kane Williamson:
Kane Williamson is going to play a pivotal role in SunRisers Hyderabad’s success in this year campaign. He missed the first two matches and the franchise faced defeat in both of the matches. The Kiwi was included in their third match and they went on to comfortably register the victory. Although against Mumbai Indians he could not score runs, Williamson will play a key role for them against KXIP.
Priyam Garg was the star performer in SunRisers Hyderabad’s victory against CSK. As Kane Williamson and the top-order lost their wickets at 69 runs, Priyam Garg played exceptionally well innings, registering his maiden IPL half-century. As a result, the team was able to set up 165 runs target. His batting performance has probably solved the middle-order problem of SRH.
6. Abhishek Sharma:
Abhishekh Sharma, who struggled in previous matches, build up the match-winning partnership with Priyam Garg. In 77 runs partnership with Garg, he contributed 31 runs, striking four boundaries and one six. The spin bowling allrounder also adds a bowling option for the captain. He will be expected to deliver such performances to keep SunRisers Hyderabad in a good position.
7. Abdul Samad:
Abdul Samad is the power hitter of SunRisers Hyderabad while also a good bowling option. Against Delhi Capitals, he had impressed with his ability to hit giant sixes. Also, with the ball, he has not been as expensive. The youngster will be in the playing XI against KXIP.
8. Rashid Khan:
Rashid Khan is the lynchpin for SunRisers Hyderabad. The lone spinner in the team has the big responsibility to dismiss the batsman early. So far, he has picked up five wickets in five matches at the staggering economy rate of 5.20. The Afghan player is surely going to trouble KXIP batsman on Thursday.
9. Siddharth Kaul:
Siddarth Kaul got the precious wicket of Surya Kumar Yadav in the last match against Mumbai Indians. He was included in the playing XI after Bhuvneshwar Kumar was not available because of injury. Seeing his performance against MI, he is likely to maintain the spot for the coming matches.
10. Khaleel Ahmed:
The left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed has not been economical but has picked crucial wickets. He has picked up two wickets in three matches at the economy rate of 8.83. But he is still to match up to the expectation. The youngster will be given the opportunity to play against KXIP.
11. T Natarajan:
T Natarajan is in the terrific form. He has remarkably executed his yorkers even though dew makes it difficult to bowl in the second half. The pacer has picked up five wickets in five matches at the economy rate of 8.31. The Tamil Nadu cricketer is going to play a significant role this season for SunRisers Hyderabad.
