Already qualified for the playoffs, Mumbai Indians (MI) without any pressure will face SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the last league match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Having top-notch batsmen and world-class bowlers, Mumbai Indians have been excellent this season.
Nevertheless, due to injury, their captain Rohit Sharma has been absent in the playing XI for last four matches. But without their regular skipper, who is also their batting mainstay, MI has comfortably qualified for playoffs which speaks volume about the quality players that franchise has.
Although the match against SRH is not important, they would want to maintain confidence before entering the playoffs.
Here, let’s take a look at Mumbai Indians predicted XI against SunRisers Hyderabad:
1.Quinton de Kock:
With Rohit Sharma being out due to injury, Quinton de Kock has the pressure to set a good base for them, but he has lost his wickets in last three matches, scoring 6, 18, and 26 runs respectively. As now there is no burden of qualification, the wicketkeeper-batsman will have to play a big knock to boost his confidence before entering the playoffs.
2. Ishan Kishan:
As Rohit Sharma’s availability is still not cleared, Ishan Kishan is likely to open the innings with de Kock in coming matches. Against CSK, he had set up a match-winning partnership with the wicketkeeper-batsman to take the game home. In the last match, the youngster remained unbeaten and scored 72 runs off 47 balls guiding the side to a comfortable victory.
3. Suryakumar Yadav:
Batting at number three position, Suryakumar Yadav has played mature innings to finish off the game for his team. Against RCB, he stood until the last ball of the game to seal the deal for MI, scoring 79* off 43 balls, striking three four and one six. So, until he is in the crease, Mumbai Indians can win the game from any point.
4. Saurabh Tiwary:
Saurabh Tiwary, who has been criticized for his fitness, has not got many opportunities to bat in the last couple of matches. In his four innings, he has amassed 102 runs. The middle-order batsman will want to improve his run tally against SRH.
5. Hardik Pandya:
Hardik Pandya has perfectly played the role of the finisher. His perfect game came against Rajasthan Royals after Mumbai Indians lost five wickets. He smacked 60 runs off 21 balls, striking seven sixes and two fours.
6. Kieron Pollard:
Currently, Kieron Pollard is captaining Mumbai Indians and has led them to three victories out of four. He is one of the biggest pillars of the franchise. Although coming to bat at lower-order, he has not got many balls to face but has maintained the strike rate of 200.00. In 13 matches, he has scored 218 runs at an average of 109.00.
7. Krunal Pandya:
The spin bowling allrounder Krunal Pandya has contributed significantly with both bat and ball in all the matches. He is an integral part of the team and will be expected to guide Mumbai Indians to victories.
8. Rahul Chahar:
Rahul Chahar is the only in and out spinner that is playing for Mumbai Indians this season. He has given valuable contribution picking wickets of Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu and another crucial batsman to give a breakthrough to the team. Overall, he has picked up 15 wickets in 13 matches.
9. Trent Boult:
Playing maiden season for Mumbai Indians, Trent Boult has become a crucial part of the team. With the new ball, he has produced magical spells to give a good start to the team.
After he could not contribute to MI’s win against KXIP, he demolished CSK’s top-order to restrict them to 114 runs. In the last match, he leaked 40 runs in his four-over while picked the wicket of Chris Morris. But he bounced back stronger against DC, picking three wickets and conceded 21 runs in his four overs.
10. James Pattinson:
James Pattinson is the replacement of Lasith Malinga in the Mumbai Indians squad. Having a huge responsibility to fill up the space of Malinga, Pattinson has performed exceptionally in nine matches.
In the last match against RCB, he was expensive and therefore, also not bowled his full four overs quota. He conceded 35 runs in three matches and went wicketless.
11. Jasprit Bumrah:
The world-class bowler Jasprit Bumrah is the trump card for any captain. In the last match against RCB, he turned the table for Mumbai Indians, picking two back to back wickets of Krunal Pandya and Devdutt Padikkal. Likewise against Delhi Capitals, he picked three wickets and gave away only 17 runs.
