IPL 2020, Match 8: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) – Toss Report

In the eighth match of the IPL 2020, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are facing SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium (Abu Dhabi). Both these teams are playing their second match in the ongoing IPL season.

Kolkata Knight Riders and SunRisers Hyderabad both have suffered defeats in their respective opening matches in the IPL 2020. In their tournament opener, Kolkata Knight Riders faced the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at Abu Dhabi in the fifth match of the IPL 2020 (23rd September). MI won that match by 49 runs.

Earlier, in the third game of this tournament (21st September), SunRisers Hyderabad started their journey in this season by meeting against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Dubai. RCB beat SRH in that game by 10 runs.

Last time, KKR and SRH met during the 38th match of the IPL 2019 at Hyderabad (Deccan). In that game, SRH thrashed KKR by 9 wickets with 30 balls remaining.

SunRisers Hyderabad captain David Warner won the toss and decided to bat first. SRH made three changes in the playing XI. Mohammad Nabi, Wriddhiman Saha and Khaleel Ahmed have replaced Mitchell Marsh, Vijay Shankar and Sandeep Sharma respectively.

Warner said after winning the toss, “We are going to bat. I don’t think too much is going to change throughout the course of this game. Nabi comes in for Marsh, Saha comes in for Vijay Shankar and Sandeep Sharma misses out as Khaleel comes in.”

Kolkata Knight Riders captain Dinesh Karthik, who lost the toss, confirmed that they made two changes in the playing XI for this game. Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Varun CV have replaced Sandeep Warrier and Nikhil Naik.

Karthik said, “We are kind of okay with the decision to bowl. Couple of changes for us. We have Nagarkoti and Varun coming in for Sandeep and Nikhil.”
