All-rounder Mohammad Nabi became the first player from Afghanistan to be sold in an IPL auction, as he was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad for his base price 30 lakh.
Among the five registered players from the associate nation, Nabi, 31, was rushed to helm of defending champions as soon he name came on the board. The right-hand batsman, who has played a total of 52 T20Is, has a highest score of 52 in the shortest format, with his best bowling figures reading four for 11.
Having played in the T20 World Cup’s since 2010, Nabi has an experience of sharing the grand stage with the big boys of the game. His bowling has been his arsenal and given the conditions in Hyderabad, he could really add to his value, if picked for any match.
The 2016 winners would open their account with the inaugural match of the season against Bangalore on April 5.
