IPL betting: Police arrests five bookies from Sahibabad
As per the reports in TOI, five alleged bookies have been arrested by police from a flat in Sahlimar Garden Area, Sahibabad for betting in IPL 8. It has been learnt that these five persons, upon interrogation, confessed in receiving bets (from their people in Punjab and Haryana) for the clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), that took place on April 30 at Eden Gardens.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada said following a tip-off police raided a basement in this rented flat and arrested Nawabuddin, Sandeep, Ismail, Sharad and Anand, all natives of Haryana. Police also found Rs 28,000 in cash, 38 mobile phones, 2 laptops, TV and a set top box from the flat.
