West Indies batsman Chris Gayle had come in contact with Sprinter Usain Bolt on his 34th birthday party after which the sprinter tested positive for Covid-19. The fastest man on the planet had hosted a big mask free birthday bash, attended by many, aftermath of which he was detected positive for coronavirus. He is isolating at his home in Jamaica.
KXIP player Chris Gayle who had attended the birthday party of Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has reportedly tested negative twice since. The BCCI guidelines stated that a player needs to test negative twice before travelling to UAE and Gayle can now head towards the IPL 2020 venue.
Chris Gayle took to Instagram to announce his Covid-19 test results
The KXIP swashbuckling batsman’s IPL could have been compromised if he had tested positive for the coronavirus. He announced on his Instagram that he had been tested negative twice.
“Couple days ago. 1st Covid-19 test.. Before travel I need 2 negative test,” Gayle’s Instagram story said. In another post, Gayle wrote, “The last one went a bit too far in my nose. Phew. Result was negative.”
“I’m going to stay home for 2020… not gonna travel again… nah sah! Tan a mi yard!! Keep the change! Excuse me!,” he added.
Usain Bolt’s birthday party included big football names too with Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey attending the party.
Bolt posted a video on social media on Saturday confirming that he had tested positive for Covid-19 and that he is self-isolating himself at his home, even though he is not showing any symptoms at the moment.
“Good morning everybody I’m confirmed of Covid-19. I did a test on Saturday,” Bolt said in a video shared on the social media. “[I’m] trying to be responsible so I’m going to stay in, and stay away from my friends. And also, I am having no symptoms, so I am going to quarantine myself. And will wait and see what is the protocol and how should I go about quarantining myself, from the Ministry of Health.

KXIP’s Bid To Win The IPL 2020
Chris Gayle’s form would be a key for Punjab’s campaign this year. KXIP started off both 2018 and 2019 campaigns strong but lost track in the later stages and failed to book a place in the playoffs.
Kings XI have made some strong decisions this year, with letting Captain Ashwin leave, KL Rahul will captain the side this season. The IPL 2020 will begin from September 19 till November 10, a total 53-day campaign will see all the eight teams play in UAE.
