IPL 2018: 42nd Match, DD vs SRH – Delhi Daredevils Predicted XI

Delhi Daredevils (DD) will be desperate to bring two points under their belt as they square off against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the return leg at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi on May 10 (Thursday).

Meanwhile, Delhi has failed to put their act together consistently and has struggled due to their no-show from the overseas recruit. The foreigners have had no impact in the game except Kiwis speedster Trent Boult.

However, there will be a sense of delight among the camp with youngsters stepping up to the occasion. The likes of Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant, and Avesh Khan along with skipper Shreyas Iyer has come good for the team.

Moreover, its a do-or-die situation for Delhi as they can’t afford to lose a game as the tournament comes to its business end.

Here is the predicted XI of Delhi Daredevils:

Prithvi Shaw:

The young Prithvi Shaw has made an early mark in his IPL career. He has scored runs consistently to provide Delhi with a good start.

The Delhi dugout will want a responsible knock from Prithvi at the start of the innings.

Colin Munro:

The swashbuckling New Zealand opener Colin Munro has struggled so far in this tournament. He is yet to justify his selection and contribute to team’s cause.

Munro needs to put his A game forward in the remaining clashes.

Shreyas Iyer (c):

The young skipper Shreyas Iyer will have to shoulder additional responsibilities apart from scoring runs for the team.

So far, Iyer has scored runs only on few occasions and has lacked consistency.

He will have to lead the batting order if Delhi wants to put a big score on the board.

Glenn Maxwell:

The Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has failed miserably in the tournament. He has had no contribution to team’s success so far.

Meanwhile, this is high time, Maxwell stands tall and takes the onus on himself to rescue his team from danger.

Rishabh Pant (wk):

The young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been the only consistent performer of the side. However, his efforts went in vain, as he lacked support from the other end.

Therefore, Pant apart from playing his game will hope for some contribution from his teammates.

Naman Ojha:

Naman Ojha has got only one opportunity this season, however, failed to make a mark. He will look to put some runs under his belt if he gets another opportunity.

Meanwhile, Ojha is capable of playing the long handle and will look to score some quick runs.

Vijay Shankar:

After having a poor show from the start of the tournament, Vijay Shankar finally found his form going.

However, he will have to continue his performance in upcoming fixtures for Delhi.

The Daredevils dugout will want an all-round performance from the Tamil Nadu cricketer.

Liam Plunkett:

Coming in as a replacement, Liam Plunkett has proved his worth in the last few games. However, he needs to carry his superlative effort and change Delhi’ fate.

Meanwhile, Plunkett can chip in with some useful run in the lower-order which will provide depth to the Daredevils batting unit.

Amit Mishra:

The veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra will have to stand up and do the job for his team. The Delhi dugout will want Mishra to pick wickets along with restricting the free run flow.

Well, Mishra had a good game in the last outing but went in the losing cause.

Avesh Khan:

Replacing Mohammed Shami in the playing XI, the young Avesh Khan has proved his mettle in the limited opportunities.

He will look to carry this forward in the upcoming fixtures. Moreover, this is a learning curve for the young seamer and will grow as a cricketer.

Trent Boult:

The speedster from New Zealand Trent Boult is the only overseas recruit to contribute to team’s success.

Experienced bowler will have to bring out his superlative game if Delhi wants to make any inroads to the Royals batting.

Meanwhile, Boult will have to lead the bowling attack and continue doing his job for Delhi Daredevils.
