IPL 2018: 18th Match, KKR vs KXIP – Kolkata Knight Riders Players XI

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will look to continue their winning run when they square off against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the Eden Gardens on April 21 (Saturday).

The Kolkata team’s confidence will be on peak after two wins on a trot. After beating Delhi Daredevils at home, they went away to beat Rajasthan. However, they will have a task in hand when they take on the Punjab side.

Meanwhile, the team has picked at the right moment with senior cricketers contributing in every game.

Moreover, the all-round performance of Nitish Rana will boost the team management. The Windies all-rounder, Andre Russell is also in great shape and will be crucial to KKR’s success.

However, it is the performance of Chris Lynn that will keep the Kolkata team worried.

With Kolkata back to their own fortress, they will look keep their winning run going with the same combination.

Here is the predicted XI for Kolkata Knight Riders:

Chris Lynn:

The Australian opener is yet to hit the right form in this league.  In the five games so far, he has only scored 107 runs.

However, he will be keen to improve his performance and contribute to team’s success.

Sunil Narine:

Narine has come good with both bat and ball in the initial stages of the tournament. The ploy of sending the Windies all-rounder has helped the Kolkata team.

His form will be crucial to Kolkata in the upcoming matches.

Robin Uthappa:

Uthappa is the mainstay in that Kolkata’s batting unit. He holds the key batting at the important position of one drop.

He has scored 128 runs in fives games and will look to score runs for his franchise.

Nitish Rana:

The all-rounder from Delhi has been a revelation for the Knight Riders. Rana has scored runs in almost all the games in the middle-order.

However, his bowling has been an advantage for the team. He has chipped in with economical overs and picked one or two wickets from here and there.

Dinesh Karthik:

Karthik has changed as a cricketer since taking over the captaincy role. He is batting responsibly and taking risk according to the situation.

Karthik ability to pace the situation according to the situation has set them apart from the rest.

Andre Russell:

Russell’s form with the bat has boosted the Kolkata dug out. The clean striker of the ball has already shown his exploits in two games.

Kolkata will bank on him to score runs in no time in his own den.

Shubman Gill:

Gill has not got the right opportunity to showcase his talent yet. He is batting lower-down the order and needs to score quick runs.

However, he will want some time in the middle to prove his potential.

Tom Curran:

The fast bowler from England is yet to deliver as per his expectations. Although he has picked wickets, he gave away too many runs.

Curran will look to be economical when he takes on the field next time.

Shivam Mavi:

This is a learning curve for the 19-year-old Mavi at this big platform. Although he has impressed with his brisk pace and accuracy picking two wickets from three games.

Mavi will be eager to pay back the trust shown to him by the team management.

Kuldeep Yadav:

After having few average stints, Kuldeep got back to his usual self in the last outing. He was very economical and contained runs in the middle-overs.

Meanwhile, he will look continue his efforts in the upcoming fixtures for Kolkata Knight Riders.

Piyush Chawla:

The veteran leg-spinner has come good for the Kolkata side time and again. With five wickets from five games, he is giving a hint of a return to form.

Chawla will be crucial to Kolkata’s success in the next outing against a devastating Punjab batting.
