Having won the toss, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) scored a mediocre total of 138/4 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Ranchi, on Super Sunday, in their 20 allotted overs.

For CSK, Suresh Raina top scored with a brilliant 62 runs, while David Hussey, in his first IPL game this season, scored 25 runs. Brendon McCullum chipped in with 19 runs. Raina during his ball knock smashed fours and sixes.

For RCB, Varun Aaron picked up two wickets, while Abu Nechim and Muttiah Murlitharan took one wicket each.

Earlier, at the toss, Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first on a Ranchi pitch which is expected to be slow and low. A win in this match will get Chennai Super Kings’ place in the playoffs while almost practically eliminate Royal Challengers Bangalore. So there is more for Royal Challengers Bangalore at stake in this game than for Chennai Super Kings.

On to the team news now, Chennai Super Kings made couple of changes to their batting line-up, as Protea T20 skipper Faf du Plessis was replaced with David Hussey. Du Plessis has a slight niggle, but Dhoni said he expect Faf to be back by next game. David Hussey, on the other hand, was an IPL commentator till a couple of days ago has now found a place in the XI. The other change was Mithun Manhas taking place of Vijay Shankar who had a terrible outing in CSK’s previous match.

Royal Challengers, on the other hand, also wanted to bat first, as confirmed by Virat Kohli, made one change to their line-up. Fast bowler Varun Aaron came in for batsman Vijay Zol to strengthen the bowling side which leaves allrounder Sachin Rana at No. 6 and Mitchell Starc at No. 7, has lengthen the tail.
