Last Monday (7th October) was the birthday of one of the best fast bowlers of the Indian team history – Zaheer Khan. From sportsperson to fans everybody wished him on social media. Instagram and Twitter are flooded with birthday wishes.

Ishant Sharma also wished the senior fast bowler. Zaheer Khan made his debut in the Indian national cricket team in 2000. Since then he improvised his performance and picked wickets when needed. He played 200 ODIs and 92 Test matches. He picked up 311 wickets in Test matches and 282 wickets in ODIs.

Zaheer is 10 years older than Ishant Sharma. Ishant made the debut in the team in 2007 when Zaheer was in great height. In the birthday wish, Ishant wrote about the mantra which the senior fast bowler told him. He wrote that Zaheer gave him the advice to focus more on fitness than technique. His advice has helped Ishant Sharma in the cricket career.

Zaheer has turned 41 years on last Monday. He was the part of the winning team of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. His contribution in the final match was commendable. In the final against Sri Lanka, Zaheer Khan managed to pick up two wickets and bowl three maiden overs. He last played for India in 2014 in a Test match against New Zealand. After that, he continued playing in the IPL and then retired from all forms of cricket in 2015.

Meanwhile, Ishant Sharma is busy playing the Test series against South Africa. India registered its first victory in the three-match Test Series. Now, the team has headed toward the second Test match that will be played in Pune.
