Javed Miandad Feels Pakistan In No Danger To Participate In The Upcoming World Cup

The former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad has slammed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for reportedly requesting to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to ban Pakistan from the upcoming World Cup. He believes that there is no chance of the ICC to listen BCCI’s this request.

On 14 February, a suicide bomber attacked with an explosive-laden vehicle into a CRPF bus in Pulwama district (Jammu and Kashmir). More than 40 soldiers have lost their lives, and many are critically injured. The Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed carried out that attack.

Since that incident, many Indians have demanded to boycott every relation with Pakistan. While India has stopped to broadcast the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the country has also banned every Pakistan artist. Moreover, some Indian cricket stadiums have removed and covered the pictures of Pakistan cricketers.

Now, many Indian cricket experts have said that India should boycott their upcoming World Cup match against Pakistan. According to the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup schedule, India and Pakistan will meet on 16 June at Old Trafford (Manchester).

However, the BCCI is reportedly going to organise a meeting about this matter. The SC-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai reportedly believes that the BCCI should write a letter to the ICC to ban Pakistan from the upcoming World Cup.

Commenting on that, Javed Miandad has demolished the chance to ban Pakistan from the forthcoming World Cup. He claimed that the ICC constitution allowed every member to participate in their events.

The former Pakistan captain said according to the Dawn, “There is absolutely no chance of the ICC listening to the BCCI as its constitution allows members the right to participate in its events.”

Javed Miandad also lashes out at Sourav Ganguly

The former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has recently suggested ending every sporting tie with Pakistan. Apart from the cricket relation, he also pointed out the hockey and football relations too.

Commenting on that, Javed Miandad lashes out at Sourav Ganguly by calling it just a publicity stunt.

Javed Miandad said, “I think Sourav wants to run for elections in the coming days or wants to become the chief minister as it is just a publicity stunt to gain attention of his country mates.”

India and Pakistan haven’t played any bilateral series in international cricket since January 2013. At present, they only meet in the ICC or ACC tournaments. Last time, they played in the Super Four stage of 2018 Asia Cup at Dubai on 23 September 2018.

The ICC has recently revealed that the India-Pakistan game in the upcoming World Cup is high in demand. While they are monitoring the present situation, they are also confident about that game.
