Following Pakistan’s mixed show at the ICC World Cup 2019, the cricketing pundits have put forth their suggestions with the former and a current lot of cricketers also joining the bandwagon to make their valid points for streamlining Pakistan cricket. Among them is wicketkeeper-batsman, Kamran Akmal.

Known for his aggressive approach at the top, in particular, Kamran believes the captain and coaching staff should be given a minimum of two years to prove their mettle.

He conceded that by letting them settle down would also benefit the team in a nutshell.

After a horrible start to their World Cup campaign, Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side had produced a four-match winning streak to finish on 11 points with runners-up New Zealand. They had won just a solitary game in first five outings which included a rain-marred match against Sri Lanka.

However, the Kiwis ended up on a far better net run-rate than Pakistan.

The out of favour batsman believes by allowing them to spend some time with the team, and it would let them put Pakistan in the right direction. He further stated that it is the right way forward for the best interest of Pakistan.

“I think the PCB should at least give two years to the captain and the coaching staff in order to properly gauge their performance. Captain Sarfraz Ahmed and the current coaching staff have been there for around three years, which is enough time to put the team on the right track,” cricketpakistan.com.pk quoted Kamran, as saying.

Concurrently, Mickey Arthur is serving as the chief coach with Grant Flower as an assistant for the batting department. Besides, Azhar Mahmood is a bowling coach. They have played a crucial role for inspiring Pakistan to lift the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy against India.

The reports suggest that PCB will extend Arthur’s tenure as a chief coach. Earlier, the speculations were at the rife that PCB might look at the local coach to guide the Pakistan national team.

Meanwhile, the reports suggest that Azhar Ali is being seen as a contender for the Test skipper. Under Ali’s captaincy, Pakistan has also done a decent job.

Well, the 32-year-old gloveman Sarfaraz leads Pakistan across formats. He is expected to be sacked from his captaincy post in the traditional fold.

Also, during his captaincy reign, Sarfaraz has failed to leave an impact with his average not-so-good. In 48 ODIs, Pakistan has won 26 under Sarfaraz’s leadership. Also, they managed four victories in 13 Tests since he becomes a captain for Pakistan.
