Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav has always confessed his admiration for Australian spin legend Shane Warne, and he still admits to correct his bowling looking at Warne’s videos. The former Australian spinner Shane Warne is acclaimed as one of the greatest spin bowlers to grace the game of cricket. Kuldeep Yadav will be seen in action for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL this season.
Kuldeep has picked up 39 wickets in 40 IPL matches for KKR and had a poor season last year only managing to scalp 4 wickets from 9 matches. The 25-year-old will look to shine for the Kolkata based side this term.
Kuldeep Yadav’s deep admiration for Shane Warne
The left-arm chinaman has the deepest admiration for Shane Warne and he has always been vocal about it. He recently told that he still watches Warne’s videos to correct his bowling style.
“I have troubled my coach a lot but even now I correct my bowling looking at Warne’s videos,” Kuldeep said in the latest episode of Knights Unplugged for the KKR website.
In an old interview, he told about the time he started idolizing Warne and his meeting with the legend. He also said the Australian helped him with a lot of tips to help his game and add mental strength to him.
“I watched him bowl in the 2005 Ashes series and from that day I wanted to become a bowler like him. He became my idol. I met him for the first time in Pune when we played a Test match against Australia. We spoke about a lot of things and when I went to Australia he helped me with a lot of tips.
“Ravi (Shastri) sir and Bharat Arun sir helped me understand what Warne was trying to convey to me. Every morning he came up with new ideas and helped me become stronger mentally and in terms of cricket skills. He is very close to me now and we chat on WhatsApp regularly,” Kuldeep had said in an previous interview with Hindustan Times.
KKR eyes their 3rd IPL Title
The Kolkata based side will be led by Dinesh Karthik. The bowling lineup is fierce at KKR and the opposition would surely fear their attacking fast bowlers, Harry Gurney, Lockie Ferguson and Andre Russell alongside Indian youngsters – Prasidh Krishna, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Sandeep Warrier and Shivam Mavi. The spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Sunil Narine will also be game-changers for KKR.
KKR’s squad with players from Indian and few foreign players have already reached the venue for IPL this term which is UAE. They have completed the mandatory quarantine and have begun training. KKR are staying at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal. The area of the hotel is spread across 57 acres and KKR have booked the entire hotel complying to the BCCI norms. The IPL 2020 will begin from September 19 till November 10, a total 53-day campaign will see all the 8 teams play in UAE.
