Mike Hesson Congratulates Ravi Shastri For His Reappointment As Head Coach

As expected, it was once again Ravi Shastri, who got the nod from the CAC members to be the head coach of the Indian National Cricket Team. His incredible numbers during his tenure helped him to stay with the team for the upcoming term as well. Meanwhile, the close competitor Mike Hesson congratulates Ravi Shastri for his reappointment.
After a series of speculations, the three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) led by Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad and Shantha Rangaswamy ended their pursuit for the next Team India coach by reappointing Ravi Shastri as the head coach of the Indian cricket team on Friday.

Shastri’s performance with the Indian team as the head coach between 2017 and 2019 earned him his fourth stint with Indian Cricket Team. Before this, Ravi Shastri had served briefly as the Cricket Manager (2007 tour of Bangladesh), Team Director (2014-2016) and head coach (2017-2019) of the Indian Cricket Team.
Ravi Shastri’s contract expired after India’s World Cup campaign but the BCCI handed him and his support staff 45-member extension. With the team playing West Indies at present, Shastri connected with the committee over Skype.
Based on the presentations given by the shortlisted candidates, everyone was given marks by the Kapil Dev-led CAC. It was also revealed that the closest contest was between Shastri, Hesson, and Moody, with the three emerging on top after the scores were calculated in the same order.

Meanwhile, Mike Hesson took to Twitter to congratulate Ravi Shastri for winning the role again. In between, Shastri gave a warm reply to Hesson, asking to keep the coach flag high.

During his two-year stint so far, India reached the semi-finals of the World Cup earlier this year, won the Asia Cup and also their maiden Test series victory Down Under last year. India have won 13 out of 21 Tests, 43 out of 60 ODIs and 25 T20 Internationals out of 36 on his watch
