Pakistan’s Misbah-ul-Haq is still unsure about his future as Test captain, as the 42-year-old right-handed batsman has said he’ll meet the PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan in a couple of days to discuss about the same. However, Misbah has cleared he is available for selection for Test series against the West Indies.
“I will meet the PCB chairman in the next two days to discuss my plan. I can only confirm my availability for the upcoming series, however, as far as my career as captain goes, the board and the chairman will have the last say on that,” Misbah said.
Misbah’s future as a player came under the scanner when he himself hinted at retirement during the Test series against Australia earlier this year. He soon denied the rumors regarding retirement post the 3-0 against the Steven Smith-led side. Misbah already had a few meetings with the PCB Chairman and with the West Indies series right around the corner, the PCB has to sought out the captaincy conundrum as soon as possible.
