Mohammed Siraj, on Wednesday, comfortably sealed the deal for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Kolkata Knight Riders after bowling four magical overs. The pacer has revealed that before handing him the new ball, Virat Kohli had discussed him to bowl bouncer, but he bowled according to his instinct.

Siraj achieved a unique feat against KKR as he became the first bowler to deliver two maiden overs in a match. Moreover, before giving away a run, he had already snared three wickets. Overall, his bowling figures were 4-2-8-3.

His masterpiece restricted KKR to a paltry 84 runs total. Eventually, RCB won the match by eight wickets and moved to the second position in the points table of IPL 2020.

Mohammed Siraj stated that he had been practising with the new ball in nets, but he had no idea that Virat Kohli will hand him over the new ball against KKR. After reading the pitch, the RCB captain had given the ball to Siraj, and the pacer gave an unbelievable performance.

“I have been practising a lot with the new ball,” Siraj said at the presentation. “We hadn’t planned that I will open but when we went out, Virat bhai said Miyan, ready ho jao. (Sir, get ready.).”

Siraj revealed that Kohli had asked him to bowl bouncers, but he decided to pitch the bowl up. Well, trusting his instincts worked for him as he went on to pick two back to back wickets in his first over.

But when I was at the start of my run-up, I thought ‘no let me pitch it up’. I pitched it up, and it came out well and I got a wicket,” he added.

Before building this record, Mohammed Siraj was heavily trolled for his performance as Virat Kohli had also said that the people were harsh on Siraj. But the pacer had shut up all the critics after achieving the unique record.
