While the Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most successful cricket leagues in the world, it is because of the high challenges. We have already experienced some great captains in this league, who handled these challenges very well and consistently guided their sides to the successful path.

On the other hand, we have also seen some great international cricket captains, who failed to maintain their successful image as a leader in the IPL career.

Sourav Ganguly – success 40.47%

Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly was a very successful Indian captain who inspired the Indian team to grow up in international cricket from a difficult situation. However, Ganguly didn’t achieve a big success as a captain in the IPL career.

While Ganguly played IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Pune Warriors India (PWI) as he played a total of 59 IPL matches, he led both the sides. Under Ganguly’s IPL leadership, his team won 17 matches out of 42 games. So, Ganguly-led IPL side suffered 25 games. As a captain in the IPL, his success rate was 40.47%.
