MS Dhoni Begins His Army Stint In Kashmir, Pictures Go Viral
Former India captain MS Dhoni commences his patrol duties in Jammu and Kashmir from Wednesday onwards. He will begin his responsibilities as an honorary lieutenant colonel in the army. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be staying with the troops for a good amount of period.
Images of MS Dhoni, who holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army unit of the Parachute Regiment, went viral on social media. The cricketer was seen interacting with the troops and was even spotted with a bat in the Valley.

A picture of the wicket-keeper batsman has been released on social media in which the seasoned campaigner is seen signing a cricket bat. Dhoni, who is on a sabbatical from the Indian cricket team, will be staying with his 106 TA Battalion (Para) till August 15 and undertake duties with the troops, Army officials said.
“Lt. Col. MS Dhoni arrived here today. And also, he joined his unit,” one of the officials told The Times of India on Wednesday.
MS Dhoni has meanwhile reached Srinagar, Kashmir where he will be with 106 Territorial Army Battalion (Para) till August 15 for patrolling, guard and post duty. “When a citizen of India wants to don the military uniform then he has to be prepared to fulfill the task. To which the uniform has been assigned to him. MS Dhoni has carried out his basic training. We know that he will be able to accomplish the task,” Rawat told NDTV.

Dhoni has trained as a paratrooper and jumped from aircraft, an army official said, adding, This stint in Kashmir is part of his training. Earlier, before leaving for his duties, the former captain was spotted with actor Arjun Kapoor. He was seen playing the football game for a charity along with kids.
MS Dhoni is currently on a break away from cricket. He made himself unavailable for India’s tour of West Indies which gets underway on August 03. Dhoni’s request for a two-month break after India’s World Cup exit was approved by the BCCI . It was done after the former Indian captain stated that he would like to serve with his regiment in the Indian Army.
