MS Dhoni To Open Cricket Academy In Jammu & Kashmir – Reports

The ex-skipper of the Indian National Cricket Team Mahendra Singh Dhoni has taken a great initiative to open a Cricket Academy in Jammu And Kashmir. The Wicketkeeping-batsman of India MS Dhoni wants to help the young talent in the state with all the world-class infrastructure being available in the Academy.

However, the things are delayed for now, as there is a bit tense with the revoke of Article 370.  MS Dhoni would like to open the Academy once the tensions in the city go down. It is also learnt that he already took the appointment to meet the sports minister regarding the same.

According to sources, MS Dhoni wishes to back the cricketing talent of Kashmir. He wants to do it by opening a cricket Academy to train young budding cricketers. Dhoni would do that without charging them any fee. The former India skipper will likely formally tell the Sports Ministry about his wish. He might speak after the ongoing situation in the Kashmir valley gets normal.

MS Dhoni to do Flag Hoisting in Leh:

Further, the report said, the former Indian captain MS Dhoni is reportedly expected to hoist the Indian Flag in Leh, It would be on the occasion of India’s 73rd Independence Day. He is currently posted in South Kashmir where he is staying with the 106 TA Battalion (Para) of the army.

He joined his battalion on July 31st and will be staying in the valley until 15th August. According to defence sources, Dhoni already reached Leh with the rest of his battalion on August 10th.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni is on a break away from cricket. He made himself unavailable for India’s tour of West Indies which got underway on August 03. Dhoni’s request for a two-month break after India’s World Cup exit was approved by the BCCI . It was done after the former Indian captain stated that he would like to serve with his regiment in the Indian Army.

However, the exact location where Dhoni will be hoisting the national flag is still not confirmed. The veteran wicket-keeper batsman was conferred with the honorary rank of a lieutenant colonel after leading India to World Cup triumph at home in 2011.
