Indian cricketer Murali Vijay, who last played for India in 2018, has named former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag as his best batting partner.
The Tamil Nadu cricketer made the debut in 2008 after Gautam Gambhir was ruled out of the Test series because of the injury. However, after the return of Gambhir in the team, he was not givens chances in Playing XI. But he had a great domestic season as well as he performed amazingly in Indian Premier League.
In 2011, he was out of form and lost his wicket early. His best at international platform came against Australia at home in 2013 where he scored back to back 150 and made his place permanent. The opening batsman has played 61 Test matches, 17 ODIs and 9 T20Is for India.

During the live conversation on Instagram, the 36-year old labelled Virender Sehwag as his favourite batting partner. Apart from Sehwag, he also picked Gautam Gambhir and Wasim Jaffer as his favourite openers.
“My favourite batting partner is Virender Sehwag. When he is there, you will automatically score runs. He is my favourite opener along with Gautam Gambhir and Wasim Jaffer. They are all greats of the game. Obviously, I followed their footsteps. I was in the line. So it was a great opportunity for me to share the dressing room with Virender Sehwag and pick his brains,” Vijay said.

Currently, Vijay is dropped from the team but he plays domestic cricket as well as Indian Premier League. The right-hand batsman has been retained by Chennai Super Kings for the impending IPL 2020, which has been postponed indefinitely. He has played for the yellow army from 2009 to 2013, and in 2018, he was bought back by CSK.
