Ashish Nehra has undergone a successful knee surgery in London. Former India batsman and Sunrisers team mentor VVS Laxman, took to social networking site Twitter to inform about Nehra’s successful surgery. “Nehra ji had a successful operation last night in London. Wishing him a speedy recovery,” Laxman wrote today.
Veteran pacer was ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League tournament with a hamstring injury. The 36-year-old Nehra had sustained a high-grade tendon injury and the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) medical team, after assessing his injury, recommended that he consult an orthopaedic specialist in London.
The Delhi pacer, who formed a formidable trio –alongside Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman and Bhuvneshwar Kumar — for the Hyderabad team, took nine wickets in eight matches before sustaining the injury in a league match against Kings XI Punjab.
