The famous Pakistan cricket fan Bashir Ahmed, who is also known as Bashir “Chacha”, has denied the claim of harassing him by Bangladesh fans during Bangladesh-Pakistan Asia Cup match in Mirpur which was played on last Wednesday.

Earlier after the match, some images went viral through social media where Bashir was seen wearing a Bangladeshi flag printed kurta. Bashir was seen crying at that moment.

With that image, some people claimed that ruling party of the country had forced that Pakistan fan to wear that dress.

But Bashir has totally denied those claims. He told a Bangladeshi English daily newspaper New Age on Friday, ‘I wore Bangladeshi flag on my own because I love both countries. If Pakistan win I am happy, if Bangladesh win I am also happy.”

He added, ‘Nobody forced me to wear Bangladeshi flag. Only two or three people gave me hard time as they said I cannot carry Pakistani flag.’

In “Bangla Tribune”, a Bangladeshi Bengali daily newspaper, Bashir said, “None of the Bangladeshi cricket fans either harassed me or forced me to wear the flag of their country during the high voltage match on Wednesday. Rather, I wore the Bangladeshi flag to celebrate the win of the Tigers as I found Bangladeshi people very good and want them to win the final match against India.”

Yet he was not allowed to carry his national flag inside the stadium. He said on that, “I was stopped at the entrance of the stadium as I was holding the flag of my country. Some people asked me to leave the flag outside as Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was present there.”

Bashir is a well known Pakistani cricket fan. He travels all around the world with Pakistan cricket team. He is also known for his sportsmanship, as he respects each and every Cricket playing nation. He was supporting India in 2015 World Cup after Pakistan’s early exit. He is also a big fan of Indian skipper MS Dhoni.
