Pakistan team’s bowling coach Waqar Younis is confident that Pakistan’s trademark ‘fast bowling’ is in safe hands after seeing their performance in the recently-concluded England tour.
Pakistan toured England with the likes of Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi as the two youngsters in their team. Both the speedsters had impressed with their pace in the English conditions. Unfortunately, they couldn’t take the team across the line.

However, Younis has trust in the coming generation of pacers in the Pakistan team. He said that his country had a bright future.
“Fast bowling is the trademark of Pakistan cricket. There have been so many great ones over the years and I am confident that the future will be bright again,” Waqar Younis said.
The former Pakistan captain added that Nassem and Afridi are a wonderful bowler with a couple of other players in the squad. He also said that Mohammad Abbas experience makes the fast bowling lethal.
“We have seen already that Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi are wonderful bowlers. Muhammad Musa, who was part of the squad in England, is another, and there are a couple in the under-19s also. Of course, Mohammad Abbas is very seasoned and experienced,” he mentioned.

Waqar Younis opines that bowlers get benefited after playing in England county cricket because they get well acquainted with the weather and ground condition there.
“I know from personal experience how much you can learn from playing in England, getting used to different weather and ground conditions, the pitches, and life off the field also,” Waqar said.
He added that Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Abbas had progressed after playing in the county.
“Both Mohammad Amir (Essex) and Mohammad Abbas (Leicestershire) have been really successful for English counties and it has benefited their careers so much as well,” Waqar Younis concluded.
