Australian pacer was already expected to fetch a high amount in the absence of Mitchell Starc. Cummins has earlier been part of Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, and Kolkata Knight Riders in past.
The last time he was in the auction, Mumbai Indians shelled out of Rs 5.4 Crore for the right-arm pacer but he did not land due to a back issue. He, along with many other Australian players, did not enter IPL 2019 auction to prepare for World Cup.
The year 2019 has been an eventful one for him. he finished with wickets at World Cups and played a pivotal role in Ashes’ campaign with wickets in the five-match series.
