Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had conducted the Coronavirus (Covid-2019) test on all the players and staff related to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020. On Thursday, the results were out and all of them have tested negatived as informed by PCB.
Earlier this week, PCB had postponed the league till further notice. Before being called off, ten players and a coach had withdrawn their name from the league because of the scare of the virus in Pakistan. Besides, PSL was the last game to be cancelled in the cricket world.
PCB chief Wasim Khan reported that the board was relieved after all of the participants test negative.

“It was absolutely critical for the integrity and credibility of the HBL Pakistan Super League and the Pakistan Cricket Board that all players, support personnel, broadcasters, and match officials, those who had decided to stay back till the end of the tournament, tested negative for COVID-19,” PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said.
“In this background, the PCB is pleased with the outcome of the results and happy that all these players and officials have rejoined their families without any health and safety doubts or concerns.”
Notably, only three games, including two semi-finals and a final, were left to be played in the PSL which was the first time being played in Pakistan. The past four editions were played in the neutral ground i.e, UAE.
The pandemic played spoilsport for PCB who after toiling hard had brought back the game in their home ground. Also, the Test match and only ODI between Bangladesh and Pakistan has been postponed.
The dangerous virus has taken over more than 7850 lives and has affected more than 1,80,000 lives worldwide. In India, so far, 174 people have been tested positive and two deaths have been reported. However, the virus is increasing rapidly.
