Black Caps captain Kane Williamson winning the toss decided to bat first. But, they started to hitting Indian bowlers from the very first ball of the match. But, that didn’t work for them, they lost wickets in regular interval. Corey’s Anderson 34 and Luke Ronchi’s 11 balls 21 helped New Zealand to give India a target of 128 which was too much for India as the latter were bowled for only 79.

Black Caps launched a straight lofted shot that crossed the top. In the next delivery, Guptill became a victim of a wrong decision as Ashwin appealed for lbw. Ashwin conceded 31 runs in four overs as other bowlers rattled New Zealand batsman.

Ashish Nehra: The seamer came in the second over of the match. He gave India the wicket of destructive Colin Munro, who reverse swept a big six over the deep square leg boundary. The seamer bowled only two overs and conceded only six runs and gave India the second breakthrough.

Suresh Raina: Raina gave India most important New Zealand wicket-captain Kane Willaimson. He bowled four overs and conceded only 15 runs. Ross Taylor lost his wicket to his brilliant piece of fielding. But, with the bat, he contributed only one run.
