Rahul Chahar, Mumbai Indians spinner revealed that he treats his cousin pacer Deepak Chahar of Chennai Super Kings like any other player when they both are playing against each other.
In the 30th match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will see them fight it out in opponent teams and as the most successful teams of the Indian Premier League take on each other, another interesting rivalry will be on the cards.
Rahul Chahar’s MI Will Play Against Bottom Placed Deepak Chahar’s CSK
CSK beat MI in the opening game of IPL 2020 but are now at the bottom of the table while Mumbai Indians are placed 3rd. Brothers Deepak Chahar and Rahul Chahar will find themselves against each other again when the two teams meet for the second time in IPL 2020.
Deepak Chahar and his first cousin Rahul Chahar, who belong to Rajasthan’s Bharatpur, have made their names with great performances in domestic cricket and has also represented India. In contrast, Deepak Chahar has featured in two ODIs and seven T20Is while Rahul Chahar has played in only one T20I.
Both the brothers had made their Indian Premier League debuts for defunct Rising Pune Supergiants- a team that was led by MS Dhoni when CSK was banned from participation in 2016 and 2017. However, now pacer Deepak Chahar is a regular member of the CSK side in IPL while his cousin plays for defending champions Mumbai Indians.

Rahul Chahar has taken 11 wickets from nine games with an economy rate of 7.40 in IPL 2020 while Deepak Chahar has also taken 10 wickets from 10 matches at an economy rate of 7.10. While Rahul Chahar averages 21.54, Deepak Chahar averages 27 with the ball in hand.
The MI spinner opened up on his rivalry with brother Deepak Chahar in a video posted by Mumbai Indians’ official Twitter handle ahead of the CSK clash on Friday.
“I prefer doing the talking after the game if we win. I remember, in 2018, he teased me after his team had won. Last year, I teased him after we won. I will tease him again after we win,” Rahul Chahar said.
“We never really speak about playing against each other. We both know we have to give 100 percent for our respective teams. When I am up against him, I treat him like any other player.”
CSK currently occupies the last eighth position in the 2020 IPL points table with only six points from ten outings, which include three wins and seven losses. Meanwhile, 3rd placed MI has 12 points, having won six games and lost three in nine matches played so far.
