Australian summer has gotten hotter with the on-going 2019-20 edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) where Adelaide Strikers are leading the points table of the league. In the 15th match of the on-going Australian BBL, Melbourne Renegades locked horns with Adelaide Strikers.
However, the Strikers won the match by 18 runs where Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan ended up as the ‘Player of the Match’ for scoring 25 runs off of 16 balls and paired with his 2 for 15 (4-0-15-2). After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Strikers put up a fair fight to build a target of 156 runs for Renegades (155/6). Opener Phil Salt scored 54 runs from 26 balls, Alex Carey scored 41 for 37 balls while Rashid played the knock of 25 runs in 16 balls.

Nonetheless, Renegades were put down by the Strikers for just 137 runs (137/8) as Rashid’s spinning ball kept Aaron Finch-led team’s run-flow under check. Apart from Rashid, Wes Agar and Cameron Valente also picked two wickets each for the team.
Rashid celebrates wickets, while Umpire hilariously brings up his finger only to scratch his nose
Apparently, there had been a hilarious incident during the 17th over of the second innings of the match between the two teams. Melbourne Renegades’ Beau Webster missed a wrong ‘un from Rashid and the ball hit the front pad. It looked lbw on the first go and Rashid appealed, to which the umpire Greg Davidson raised his finger only to scratch his nose in the end.
However, by that time, Rashid was already celebrating until his teammates told him that the umpire had the mindset in that decision. Nevertheless, the event did turn out to be hilarious while Strikers won the third game and now resides at the top position on the table with three wins and two losses.
Here is the clip of the hilarious incident with Rashid:
