Ravichandran Ashwin Reacts On Christchurch Shooting

After the recent terrorist activities in Pulawama, India, another such ghastly act took place in New Zealand. A group of men shot people dead at Christchurch. There were active shooters near a mosque in New Zealand, who started firing at the innocent people. Meanwhile, India’s Ravichandran Ashwin makes his voice on the coward act.

During the attack, the Bangladesh Cricket Team, who are being hosted by New Zealand for bilateral series were saved by the protection force. They were immediately taken off from the premises to ensure them that they are in safe hands. As a safety measure, the third Test at Hagley Oval has been cancelled.

There is no place that is safe – Ravichandran Ashwin

Speaking of the act, Ravichandran Ashwin is pretty sad to keep on hearing such terrible acts. He quoted that the actual threat to humanity is the existence of a human being. Recently, he urged people to start becoming a change but just a day after it, the act took place.

Digging into his tweet, it read “There is no place that’s safe for humanity because human beings are the biggest threat to this planet.”

Thankfully, Bangladesh Cricketers escaped from the attack. They were about to enter the mosque to take their prayers, however, they quickly entered back in the bus after witnessing the attack right in front of them. After a couple of minutes, they were moved to Hagley Oval Park and then into the dressing room.

After the incident, Tamim Iqbal tweeted ”Entire team got saved from active shooters!!! Frightening experience and please keep us in your prayers”

Bangladesh has been touring New Zealand since last month. They lost the one-day international series 3-0 and have also lost the three-Test series after New Zealand claimed victory in the opening two matches.

The shootings occurred on Friday — the busiest day for many mosques around the world when Muslims convene for the Friday prayer. Many Muslims take time off of work to join their congregation and the Friday prayer normally takes place at around midday.
