The 31-year-old Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja created history on Saturday (17th October) evening after becoming the first Indian in IPL history to score 1000+ runs as well as to take 50+ wickets for a team.
Jadeja reached that feat during the 34th match in the IPL 2020 where Delhi Capitals (DC) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were competing at Sharjah Cricket Stadium (Sharjah).
Before that match, the left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja not only picked up 85 IPL wickets for CSK in 110 IPL matches, but the left-handed batsman also scored 991 runs for this team. So, he was just nine runs away to become the first Indian to score 1000+ IPL runs as well as pick up 50+ IPL wickets for a team. During that 34th match of the IPL 2020, Jadeja created that history after hitting a sixer to Tushar Deshpande.

Ravindra Jadeja has played 179 IPL matches till the date. While the left-handed batsman has scored 2071 IPL runs, he has also taken 112 IPL wickets. Jadeja made his IPL debut in its inaugural edition, serving for Rajasthan Royals (2008-2009). Apart from Rajasthan Royals and CSK, the Indian all-rounder also played for now-defunct IPL teams Kochi Tuskers Kerala (KTK) and Gujarat Lions (GL).
Jadeja is the third most-capped player for CSK as the 34th match of the IPL 2020 was his 125th T20 match for CSK. Playing for CSK, he has scored 1180 T20 runs and also taken 94 T20 wickets.
